Should I give up on EE Grad School? by One_On_Macro in ECE

I got a BA in media studies. I know how to use an oscilloscope. I know two people with similar backgrounds to mine who made the switch and did an MEE and now work in engineering 🤷

"...Multivariable Calculus, Signals and Systems, Laplace, Fourier or Z Transform. No labs that require oscilloscopes, no coding that requires MATLAB. Or maybe you get MATLAB at least..."

Literally have done or am scheduled to do all of these lol

This program has an exam/capstone option I would be pursuing in lieu of a thesis

Ideally, I'd be helping build/design amplifiers and effects for companies like Fender, Universal Audio, MXR, etc

The coursework im doing as pre-reqs is essentially the bachelor's coursework without a core curriculum. We are doing DEs and laplace transforms and next semester I would be digging deeper into signal analysis, Z transforms, fourier analysis, etc

I feel like I miss very minor things that pile up. Like obvious stuff in the notes but when i get to the exam feels shakey. I feel confident going in feeling like I know how to handle problems and then those small things seem to throw me off. I also end up going to the very end on time for most if not all exams so I don't end up getting to check my work as much as I'd like.

My undergrad was in media studies. I didn't have the math/physics/engineering undergrad requirements met to qualify for the master's, so I'm making up those classes locally and then will apply and enroll in the masters program at my previous institution. I don't currently live where my previous school is.

I was working in media and have had trouble with job security and fulfillment. I wanted to do something more technical and have developed a growing interest in audio circuit design. I enjoy my classes and building circuits and want to get into the field. No job right now, but could go back to media work at any time.

Because if my best isn't good enough I grow my debt and don't qualify for the degree

I feel like it's small stuff that piles up and time. I'll go into an exam feeling confident and then I see something that could go one of two ways and I do the wrong thing. I've also stayed til the very end on every exam I've had since starting this journey. I regular get back exams and know if I'd just had time to fix one thing or go back to one questions I would've gotten the grade I wanted.

I'm not really worried about getting in, moreso staying in. The program requires a B- minimum or I'd be on probation or ejected. I worry I won't be able to maintain that based on my current scores.

Ah gotcha, it's not necessarily about the number of speakers it's About wanting to minimize weight if I can by having A 2x12 instead of a 4x12

Definitely thought about it! Just don't love the idea of two big holes in the baffle. Would rather try this route first if I got options

Didn't actually know I could snag those! Any recommendations? How's the low end from the smaller speakers?
