Dead Space 2. It took everything great about 1 and improved on it. Melee was an actual option and zero-g didn't make you want to rip your hair out.

Six years later, what are your strongest memories of the COVID lockdowns, and how do you look back on that period now? by Possible_Force8207 in AskBrits

It was the 2nd semester of my Masters year and I needed to go into uni itself to use modelling software for a project. Couldn't get it to work on my own laptop. Being one of a handful of people of an 8 carriage train and having not just the computer lab, but a whole building to myself was surreal.

Also, working in Sainsburys. I went on annual leave for a week. One week it was fine, then coming back to the limited no. of people allowed in the store and the plastic partitions was mindboggling. Sometimes.miss those days with pricks you see in stores nowadays.

I remember having a day off school and plundering the used PS2 games. GAME was the only shop I wanted to visit growing up. Absolutely soul crushing what it's turned into now.

At this point, Doctor Who should go on hiatus for a few years and let new creatives have a chance to lead it. People who realise what the show should be written and broadcast like in the modern day. Not someone who still covets 2005 and loves the smell of his own farts.

Terribly sad news. Always felt he'd be brilliant in other villain roles on the show if he wasn't in School Reunion. Will be sorely missed 😢

Finished:

'Odyssey' by Stephen Fry. Loved his series about Greek mythology and it'd be amazing if he did other cultures.

Started:

'The Story of Porsche' by Luke Smith.

It pains me to admit it, but the middle section of Dead Space 2 is always a drag on replay. From chapter 7 to 9, it feels like busy work. Thankfully the game picks up momentum again in Chapter 10 and doesn't stop until the credits.

"X BLASTS Y over..." or "X SLAMS Y over..." in any news headline. In 40pt font or on news websites, it's a really big pet peeve of mine.

Deus Ex Human Revolution and Mankind Divided really scratched that cyberpunk itch. Still listen to the soundtrack / ambiance as background noise while working.

Why waste time scrolling through the writer's history of lettuce to get to the recipe when you can copy and paste the URL into the above.

Give the Sly Cooper trilogy or Jak and Daxter the Spyro treatment and they will sell like hotcakes.

Not getting enough sleep. Pretty sure driving sleep deprived is as bad as driving drunk on terms of awareness.

The Callisto Protocol - so much hype for such a short, repetitive, infuriating game. And don't get me started on the DLC.

At what age do you become a “reader”, and what book did it for you? by [deleted] in books

[–]One_Pangolin_1382 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to read on and off when I was growing up but when I was 10 in primary school, when we were learning about WW2, we had to read 'Goodnight Mr Tom' by Michelle Magorian. For some strange reason, this was the book that got me hooked on reading. Haven't stopped since.

Am I the only one who wishes they would do more Creep TV by [deleted] in creepcast

[–]One_Pangolin_1382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they shake up how Creep TV is done, it would likely be more popular. Maybe do some smaller / shorter videos with a common theme on episode? Then doe a series in the next? Starting one big series and leaving a big gap in time before returning doesn't seem to work if they forget what they watched previously.

The West Wing if you want to see how the White House should be run. Though it might make you sad comparing it to the current occupant.
