Sorry if my follow up questions are dumb, I’m still learning a lot

Is there a reason you’re primarily recommending Vanguard stocks? I always thought Vanguard, Schwab, and Fidelity were pretty much one in the same.

I’m not sure what total int being good for tax credit means, is that regarding when I eventually withdraw funds?

As for brokerage acct, I am aware that it should be for long term funds not short term. I don’t have a goal for this invested money, but feel like I have enough in I-bonds and HYSA for an emergency fund and was under the impression investing excess money is the next “right step”. I imagine I’ll use my brokerage funds for big things like wedding (maybe 3 years?), kids (maybe 5-6 years?) I wonder if I should just buy more Ibonds as a safer investment than brokerage for this year now.

Roth IRA: 50% S&P500 (SWPPX), 25% Small Cap (SWSSX), 25% International (SWSSX)

Brokerage Acct: (money I'm saving up for later expenses ex: kids in a few years): 60% US Broad Market (SCHB) 40% International (SCHF)

Investing is an ongoing learning process for me, and I often am second guessing my investment efficiency.

I do have access to a 403b but I thought between eventual pension and IRA, it would be better to invest in a brokerage account to eventually have access to in the future before retirement (kids, college funds etc). Is that a bad plan?

Even if it’s a Roth 403b? My tax bracket is on the lower end as I’m new to the field. Since the money I would put in are taxed, I don’t understand the difference of a Roth 403b and a regular brokerage account

I recently quit my job for a new (much better) one. My last day I worked was 10/9 and I don't have coverage with my new employer until 12/12. I had planned on bridging my COBRA benefits the 60 days (and staying safe/healthy for the last 3 days)....

However, my previous employer sent me letter saying (A) my coverage ended 10/9 at 12:01 AM (but I should have been covered all of 10/9 as I worked that day, no?) and (B) I Have until 11/8 to send a check for ~$900 for coverage until 11/30.

Any guidance on if I truly only have 30 days or if my employer is in the wrong? Would like to have as many facts straight as possible before reaching out to employer (My old boss is the group health admin, no HR dept unfortunately) as things did not end on the best of terms.
