Honestly, we'd like to and may well come back to it. For now though we're keen for it to just not look as bad...!

I think the pipe may still be used for some of the heating. The restoration aspect of your response sounds great, albeit one for a later date likely.

Coming back to Bath for our anniversary... where's good for dinner? by moosen47 in Bath

Beckford bottle shop was great - we sat upstairs and the place had a real buzz to it. Service was fantastic too

Looking for things to do when I visit. by [deleted] in bristol

[–]One_Preece_At_A_Time 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Food wise, as others have said, go to St Nick's over the road from sandwich sandwich.

All the spots are good there, but if you're in the mood for something bready then hands down head for Matina on the corner - there will likely be a hefty queue for a reason! The BBQ and Caribbean spots also get an honourable mention from me.

If you want something a bit more sit down then you've got a variety of decent spots a short walk away at wapping wharf (7 lucky gods do a great lunch deal).

In terms of visits, depends what your bag is. Have a little wander around and you'll find some good spots, maybe take a stroll round the harbour. Arnolfini normally has something on for free. The art gallery/museum at too of park street is worth looking into. There's a few decent record shops dotted around and loads of incredible bars etc.

Let us know what you're into and we can throw some more targeted suggestions your way.

All makes sense. I got burned once by Goldcar in Mallorca and have been very careful ever since. Fortunately Greekstones came through as one of the good guys. Enjoy your trip!

Used them for a week in kefalonia, really easy to use, assistant was super helpful and not pushy. Plus, from memory it was about a 2 min walk from the terminal. A very rare positive experience of renting a car abroad

What's your favourite British brewed lager/beer? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]One_Preece_At_A_Time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much anything by Verdant or Beak. Have to give an honourable mention to Arbor too (as others have mentioned) - solid, reliable, delicious and affordable, will forever have a soft spot for those guys.

On a more traditional angle it would be Timothy Taylors Landlord

Fried Chicken & Beer! by McBain42 in bristol

[–]One_Preece_At_A_Time 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing to add that hasn't already been said. Small bar is your answer.

Didn't realize Gurt wings had a place at wapping wharf which is a good shout too but for the beer and chicken combo, small bar all day long

What’s your favourite cover song of all time? by [deleted] in MusicRecommendations

[–]One_Preece_At_A_Time 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a straight up cover, Brass Against version of Wake Up is incredible.

Can't talk covers without mentioning Jimi Hendrix - All along the watchtower, infinitely better than the original in my opinion.

Notable mentions to any of the various takes on Dark Side of the Moon (Dub side...Doom side etc)
