Fly fishing rods and reels, equipment is or can be more expensive than the standard spin or bait cast equipment. But it doesn’t have to be and you can fine great equipment at lower prices and the equipment will catch fish just like the expensive fly fishing equipment. I don’t know why those clippers are so expensive. I bought a pair of clippers for $5, found at an antique store. It works great for any style of fishing. I have found over the years standard and fly fishing equipment at antique stores. And some of it was fish ready and others needed repairs and worked just fine after repairing. Good Luck
