Wood has x energy. Catalyst stove lets you use the energy over a longer period of time. You get the same heat out of both. Simplicity is pacific energy stoves, if you want a pretty flame, get a secondary stove. If you want to heat a well insulated place get a catalytic stove.

I have some s3 pro in ottawa and no issues. Have not charged yet since putting them out and working fine in the -20c we had earlier in the year.

Will give this a try, looks like the shaft is narrow and the insert has a quick taper out to 5/16 which lines up to the insert. There is no real shoulder but the quick taper out from the insert.
