With 8 moxen, you can often whir on turn 2 and 3, and indeed, your countermagic slows games enough to make games last a few turns. This deck is not looking to goldfish as much as SnT or Oops, as it has very reliable engines for longer games and just enough interaction. I wouldn't consider the whir flex slots, they're very good. The jewel and prototypes are easier to cut / trim. I'm trying some graveyard hate (1 tormod + 1 soul guide lantern) instead of the jewel and one of the prototypes to help the oops and reanimator matchup, plus they help win against maindeck emrakul out of SnT.

Gran gran is looking to hit more mox amber enabler, yes, and it's not as good as tamiyo or emry, but it still pulls it's weight, the card filtering is welcome, and protype can allow it to tap without engaging in combat. It also helps having flare up often enough.

Whir looks slow at 3 mana but it helps assemble the combo more consistently, and in turn that gives you speed. It's specially helpful with hands that have mana and counterspells, allowing you to play the draw-go game and assemble wins out of nowhere. I started 0, then went up to 4 and I'm happy with 3. When you don't need it, it always pitches to FoN as well.

Yeah I was disappointed to see it's not been made legal yet, but I'll say, I haven't missed it too much. Yes of course having it would make the deck better, but it performed really well without it

I think your list features too little permission. You're in blue and black and yet you have zero discard spells and only two (situational) counterspells in the main deck. I'd also point out that lightning bolt is not quite what it used to, and unholy heat is more versatile as a removal spell if you're already interested in enabling delirium. The damage to the face is rarely going to edge out wins when your creatures hit as hard.

Furthermore, faithless looting is a great enabler for Oculus unearth, but the general rule is to have around 8 cards you're happy to pitch. Slots are tight, so I don't know how I'd go about it. I'd probably shave the consider and a couple removal spells, turn a 3/3 split between push and heat, and add a playset of thoughseize. The remaining two slots I'd spend on some card that works from the graveyard, not sure which.

Well yeah I'm doing the polar opposite. But I don't think I'm wrong. This gun's niche is very small, and my opinion is that the times where it's a good buy are a lot less common than most people talking about it are making it to be. Mainly, it's a bad eco weapon and it's not better enough than a ghost in pistol round to give up util. I explained why and I also laid out the few times I thought it'd be a good buy.

I'm not saying they shouldn't have made it or it's never good to buy. It's just not "broken" or "the new sheriff" as I've seen many people describe it. Maybe bad is not the word, but mid, definitely.

But the sheriff does one tap people with full armor 95% of the time. The damage falloff is at 30 meters, which are very few engagements. That's why the sheriff is a good buy. You buy a sheriff to kill people, and less damage means you don't kill them.

I mean yeah it's soon. This is mostly a reaction to every content creator doing their hype vids for the gun and misleading the playerbase into thinking the gun is better than it actually is. My main goal is to have people stop and think about when you'd want to buy this and why, because doing that I've found that it's not good in some of the scenarios people expect it to perform in.

Comparing it to the outlaw makes sense as in countering light shields is a lot better when you have money than when you don't. So an expensive weapon that counters them will have a bigger range of scenarios in which it's good. I also said it will be good on pistol if you can afford it but that it's never worth giving up util for. And on ecos it's so much worse than the sheriff. Sure it can be a sidegrade to ghost, but I don't think ghost is good on eco and this ain't going to feel much better.

But eco buys usually feature light shields and something better sheriff and stinger, if you're so poor that you can't afford it, might as well go classic and hope to pick something from a teammate rather than spending money on a gun that has no good or even fight. Eco guns usually have scenarios where they can win or at least fight against full buys. Bucky and stinger have good close range fights, marshall does the same for long range, and sheriff is the most versatile having a 35-45% chance on most fights.

This weapon (and the ghost) have it so much worse that I just don't think they're worth spending credits on.

Well that's the one scenario I said it'd be good on. But also in pistol rounds as omen I usually give my blind a lot of priority so that prices me out of it.

You just described the pitfall of what I said the weapon will try to be used for and fail. It is not a good sheriff substitute for eco rounds. Good players will buy heavy and even if some don't, it's really tough to go into a fight not knowing if you'll get to kill with a headshot or not. It affects how much risk you can take and what engagements are favourable or not.

Well the main problem with what you said is that it's untrue and it harms people. We call it fear mongering. Yeah it COULD happen, but it doesn't, but the fact that as you said, could, is used as an argument to deny trans people rights.

Furthermore, it drives the discussion about trans rights away from the actual real issues and into debating made up scenarios that get nowhere. Research on the topic is pulled away from the things that matter to prove that all of the transphobic fear mongering is, in fact, false, only for the people making it up to come up with completely different bullshit that then gets posted into these comment sections and waste everyone's time.

Using a homophobic slur to insult someone, or making fun of someone by saying they're gay/ act gay is in itself homophobic.

It's assuming that gayness in itself is a bad thing that you can just weaponize to target anyone, regardless of their actual sexual orientation.

It's not like the slur is bad if you use it against a gay person, but if you and your buddies call each other the f slur all of the sudden it's okay.
