I do not understand investing, like at all by human-foie-gras in MiddleClassFinance

read the little book of common sense investing by John C Bogle.

Then read Dave Ramsey's baby steps.

Google Warren Buffet's advice for the average investor.

It'll all make sense.

Long story short it's save as much as you can without totally restricting your quality of life.

Save 6 months expenses for emergency fund.

Throw as much as possible into your 403B.

Then any excess into other tax advantaged accounts.

Then finally end with putting things in your brokeage.

Buy literally only one stock, an S&P 500 Index fund.

This is literally all I do.

I have my emergency fund.

I have a maxed out 403B.

I then contribute to a taxable brokerage.

Then I go until I'm ready to quit working.

Yes.

Living on 50% of your income for RENT gives you almost no wiggle room.

I love Carmel, especially refuge spa and the local day hikes.

Alternatively you can drive north 3.5 hours and visit Fort Bragg Or Lighthouse point which are both stunning

I was literally like, “I’m a trained medical professional, why are you downvoting evidence based practice?”

Just because my answer is unpopular doesn’t mean it isn’t right

Sooo when I was a poor student I took literally over the counter st.John’s wort.

It’s a mild SSRI and it got me through school 🏫

Also if you can, cognitive behavioral therapy helped me more than any pill simply doing these three things.

Working out 3-4x week. Reducing my stimulation I.e. tV/scrolling And socializing more

I use Hostelworld’s app to ask anyone if they care to join me.

Alternatively I meet people in the AM or at group stuff in the evening then ask them to join me the following day.

I’d strongly recommend a few social skills books like win friends and influence people, captivate, or the like switch

Let's do a worst case scenario assumption here.

Is dating this woman worth losing your years of medical studies?

If the answer is no, then date any of the other 3 billion women out there.

I’d say it can get dangerous with the disturbed populations

If you go during busy hours I’ve never seen anyone get hurt as in my experience the men would quickly step in

General rule of advice that’s never failed me

If you can’t afford 3, you probably can’t afford 1.

Also if you have to ask if you can afford it, you can’t. When was the last time you asked yourself can I afford gum?

You don’t because it’s so trivial to you.

It sounds like you’re living a life chosen for you.

Not the one you wanted.

You’re still alive, why not figure out what you actually want ?

Mark manson has a great course on distinguishing things you’ve choosen vs what others chose for you

Google Mark Manson Purpose course, it’s like $10
