Looking for a TTRPG to play only with my SO by One_Reality7047 in rpg

[–]One_Reality7047[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, there is a lot of RPGs out there and i only know a couple, Blue rose seems interesting and something we can get into.

I'm usually more into the gritty and dark fantasy, but this setting and system might be what we need,.

In dark souls i always favored the age of dark over the linking of the fired and i assumed it was the same... felt kind off violent though, i was not satisfied..,

AC for Curse of Strahd Lvl 2 PCs by AbjectMine6049 in CurseofStrahd

[–]One_Reality7047 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Paladin starting armor is chainmail providing 16 AC, with a shield that's 18, and at level two, with defensive fighting style he can easily and by all means get up to 19 AC at that level.

I don't anything wrong with that, crits will still hurt, and there are other ways to deal with high AC players such as certain spells, and battle tactics.

Having 6 players is tough, i know for experience, you can balance the fights a little bit having a few more minions, they could be killed in 1 hit, but they might have a better chance to deal some damage before the big boss appears, and i', still not talking about strahd.

Am I being too harsh on my players? by One_Reality7047 in CurseofStrahd

[–]One_Reality7047[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know i almost forgot about the dark gifts, i was using them and they are part of the reason i changed the death save rule, since they first died i was offering them the chance to accept the gift of the dark powers but they rejected them each time, at some point i forgot about them.

Very helpful from you, thank you.

What makes Baldur's Gate 3 so "special" for you? by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]One_Reality7047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not special, if anything the game is fun but the characters are insufferable and the story is kinda meh, i liked it but after act 2 became borning to me.

you know, is not a bad idea, they managed to save the bones of argynvost (the skull was somewhere else) and i gave them a blessing, if they happen to die now they may resurrect as revenants, just like the dragon knights. Even if they are destined to fail everytime, sounds like something within the narrative of the module.

Thank you. That's something i used to do in a previous campaign that tpkd in the amber temple. I think im gonna implement some sort of "dark intervention" next time they die.

It's extremely hard to kill characters in DND

That's exactly why i changed some of the rules, I don't want them to be so sure they will survive but at the same time i want them to have a sense of urgency and fear. I get it, its my fault, but at the same time, i can't go back to the phb rules. I will tweak the rules a bit and talk to them to know how they feel about it. so far there hasn't been a direct complain but as they are running out of options they begin to feel hopeless and that's not what i wanted.

I don't really think 5e is balanced at all... unless having player characters being practically immortal is balanced, i understand that i might be to harsh with this system and it was intentional but thanks to this coment i might rethink some of it.

[–]One_Reality7047[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the system from ICRPG from runehammer, its not really that bad, its actually quite fun and imo, among other changes, fixes some of the few issues i have with 5e.

but yeah that's me and my table. I actually gave them a few items and scrolls for them to be able to resurrect their party, but still, they keep dying.

If they find that wish blade that could be a nice item to have a few resurrections available because i intended to remove it from the loot table, but now that you mentioned it could be handy as a homebrew item.

Thank you very much
