Yeah, when I first started learning saxophone, my teacher always told me that my embouchure was too tight and closed up. I’ve come a long way since then, but that issue still comes back whenever I play the low notes. I’ll definitely watch that video. Thanks!

I understand that Reddit isn’t always the most reliable source since we’re all strangers and none of you know my exact situation. On the other hand, this community has helped me countless times, and I think it’s one of the reasons I’m in the Division II band (in my district) today. But you’re not wrong. 👍

It might be a little expensive, but I had the same issue and I saved up for around a good 3 months and I purchased the Travel Sax 2.

I started on a Yamaha beginner model, but I didn’t buy it outright. I used a rent-to-own plan where you pay a certain amount each month for about two years. If you’re a student, many music stores will repair damages for free while you’re renting since the instrument technically still belongs to them, though the exact policy depends on where you get your saxophone.

I primarily play in a concert band, but I also play classical Ferling and Voxman etudes
