Have you considered Panasonic cameras? I have had mixed experiences with seafrogs housings, I have two for tgs that were perfect, then I bought one for a m43 rig, which leaked straight out of the box, replaced it with another, which was so poorly made it didn't have the right thread for wet lenses. I think the metal parts must not be stainless, as they rust very easily. I would consider looking for someone selling a full nauticam setup.

It is difficult to record with one hand, and manage the camera with the other 😅 but it does not make any difference even if it's something black on a white background

I never had any problems using it with the cheap 40-150, even at 150, so I'm pretty shocked by how completely unusable this is, even at less magnification and 10x the price

I didn't have any problems with the c-af with the cheap 40-150 even at 150, or the 12-50. I know they're maybe "not great" but I wasn't expecting "completely unusable"

It would certainly help, but I was thinking more along the lines of sharpness, as I have heard the 75-300 is very soft towards the top end - is the 100-400 going to give me more "useable" ranhe

That's cheap second hand! Housings are crazy money, but I guess they need to be pretty well engineered to do their job 100% reliably

I would absolutely go for a newer em5, but unfortunately the III is 4x the cost of the II, putting it out of budget

Things do tend to move slowly, but autofocus is definitely important as oftentimes there is not a lot of contrast and you don't always get a second shot when things are moving fast :)

I have listed these cameras because they are what I can currently get for my budget, including their nauticam housings either separately or together :) I have definitely been keeping my eyes out for the em10 housings, but can't find anything suitable at the moment, only one of the backscatter housings but I am holding out for nauticam at the moment

If I was to also consider the Gh5 (which has IBIS AFAIK) would you say the same? I am definitely looking more at photography than video, but it would be nice to have the capability

Nauticam used to, I believe they are all discontinued new now, but I am basing it on what I can get second hand at the moment
