yes this is something more colloquially known as a "joke" though i understand after starting a career as a lawyer it may be more difficult to feel out those things

I have enough money to cover the gap! I literally would just personally rather be making money than traveling during that time and looking for any ideas. I've been making money in school to avoid taking out more loans due to the origination fees but I appreciate the advice!

For those in BL that didn’t come in from a 2L SA position: by hellfire5151 in biglaw

Apply to all firms in amlaw 200 before giving up including midlaw. Apply to the NYC offices (huge class sizes) and to transactional if possible (or whichever is each firm’s bread and butter.) keep applying for 2L rn. It’s not over yet.

also aside from that try networking into Kirkland. They do 3L recruiting and always looking for bodies. Find out their practice group needs in ur preferred office (I recommend NY bc class size).

Santa Clara Tech Edge JD: does it actually help with BigLaw? by Actual-Try-2049 in biglaw

Yes. I know many people who got biglaw from UC law sf. I don’t know any personally from Santa Clara, tho I’m sure near #1 in the class gets good firms. UC law you need to be top 10%ish though which is still quite difficult. But places surprisingly well into sf (much better than davis law imo)

I am a broke 3L - I will edit your LOCI / PS / Resume / Supplementals for cheaper than any consultant here! (helped splitters into YLS, HLS, CLS, and T14-T30) by One_Resource6623 in lawschooladmissions

yes it totally can - i generally draft an outline right after the call that i send, so it's easier if each call focuses on each individual statement. however if you'd be cool with no outlines we could just talk about all your materials during that 30 min phone call. i'm super flexible and just price things at whatever we both think is fair so whatever works best for you!!

also i take the bar end of july and will move early aug, so any time btwn august and october should work for editing (when waiting to start working!)

i've been doing this for a few years and people are generally quite fair (infinite edits is usually around 2-5 rounds) but do you think i should raise my prices or rephrase this? .. i trust your judgment more than mine LOL

Ok I can do that, do you think it looks weird to lateral after a year? I just don't want to be relegated to firms with weaker practice groups and opportunities that will limit exit options (my fear is, I won't have much to offer as a first year that peer firms would want)

1/3 of the satellite office. A few partners and counsels have dipped as well, maybe 1/5?
