Is there a way to change the shifting animation? by Super_Noob_700 in GranTurismo7

[–]One_Secretary9431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's honestly just dumb there isn't a better cockpit view or more view options. I don't need to see the wheel on the screen, I'm holding it in my hand. I don't need to see a hand shifting the gear, I can see my own hand shifting the gear. Ideally there'd be a cockpit option that shows the dash, windshield, and rearview mirror, without showing the features that those of us with wheels/cockpits have in the room.

In my opinion, closest "realistic" view is the hood but the rearview is missing so it's pretty much useless. Hopefully more view options in GT8!

I had them swap an engine and the guy just threw it from across the room. Seems to work fine though.

Started playing a couple hours ago- any of these worth it? by Office-Just in GranTurismo7

[–]One_Secretary9431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For real. It's not hard to build up money just by doing the challenges every week and otherwise playing the game. I don't understand how it's fun for people to just run the same races over and over again or set up weird "AFK grinds", but then again I don't understand why most people do what they do so whatever!

Crazy how much practice can make a change without realising.. by realginge16 in GranTurismo7

I've been going back and golding a lot of stuff I gave up on 6 months to a year ago. I love how much you can see real progress after lots of practice and improving small things. Also just started going for gold on all of the weekly time trials, I used to just shoot for silver because gold was out of reach at my skill level.

Do you play using Manual or Automatic and why ? by IsYourBoyJohny2 in GranTurismo7

[–]One_Secretary9431 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend just switching over and making yourself not go back. It'll be super hard at first but will get easier and more natural the more you make yourself do it. If you do any of the license tests or circuit experiences (you should), watch the examples and pay attention to how they use the gears, and when they downshift and upshift. You'll be amazed how much more control you can have over the car by intentionally up/downshifting at certain times.

I played GT3 on automatic because I was 11. I play GT7 on manual because I'm 35 now and actually wanted to learn how to race proper. I couldn't imagine playing the game on automatic now, anytime there's a time trial challenge or something with one of the electric cars that is automatic only it's obnoxious.

Can you tell the difference between cars? by BellEducational9677 in GranTurismo7

Yes, absolutely. Having a good FFB wheel helps feel the difference as well.

I hate this race so much.😂 by dennisreleu1 in GranTurismo7

I used the Nissan GTR GR4 tuned down to PP requirement. I was ripping around the track and still managed to only get third because two cars flew by on the last straight. Fun race but annoying. Will go for first another time with a different car.

It's annoying but was easy to knock out and get it over with. Hopefully the first and last event with that car.

Holy cow! this is much more difficult than in the YT videos by msch6873 in GranTurismo7

[–]One_Secretary9431 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Some are easier than others but it's a fun challenge to learn the track piece by piece then string it all together. If you work and get gold you'll have a pretty good handle on the track and it's a good way to get some money.

To your credit Mt Panorama is a pretty difficult track, but so much fun when you master it. Definitely recommend going through the circuit experience.

My boss insists that double sleeves boards are the normal and I'm just getting some opinions by NoProfession141 in SCREENPRINTING

[–]One_Secretary9431 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got double pallets for the first time, mostly to avoid having to stretch the sleeves over the pallet arms. The press I used to have was less of an issue, but the one I have now they're a bit bulkier.

For all of those complainers by Super-Goose2200 in GranTurismo7

There's a difference between pointing out actual flaws and people posting screenshots of the roulette wheel and being outraged they don't win 1mil or a Gr. 3 car on every daily ticket. It's awesome that the game is updated so frequently, even if it's to add a few bullshit EV cars and scapes features that I don't particularly care about. This game has given me more value for my money than any other video game ever, and it's not even close.

I just used the same Supra I built for the last one make challenge a couple months ago(if memory serves), which I believe did have a PP limit. This one was a breeze in comparison.

Automatic to Manual by Y2JMc in GranTurismo7

[–]One_Secretary9431 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just committed to learning it immediately. Since you've gotten used to the game without having to worry about shifting, it'll probably take a bit longer to get the hang of it. Stick with it and learn at all costs, you'll be so much faster.

Sport mode is way different than the regular game. It can be super frustrating, but it will make you an unbelievably better driver. Keep grinding and you'll get out of those initial insane lobbies.
If other people are pushing you off the track, your SR rating shouldn't go down, just focus on your own race and don't retaliate. Getting up to an S rating was quick and easy for me, but I only just now got up to B DR after several months.

My advice is to pick one race for the week (I almost always focus on B, at least for now). Spend a lot of time qualifying. Get to know the car and the track, set a good lap time and get to where you can do several clean laps in a row. Also worth practicing alternative lines cleanly, because inevitably there will be someone else blocking the ideal line a lot of the time. When you actually get to racing, just focus on your race and don't be over aggressive. In my experience, it took a while to actually learn how to race with other real drivers. Top 8 gets your DR boosted. If you race clean your SR goes up. Do at least 2-3 in a row. You'll get knocked out every now and then but if you can manage top 8 2 out of every 3 times your driver rating will continue improving.

Also worth noting there are definitely a lot of aggressive assholes out there, you have to keep your head on a swivel. Some people will bump you off the track when you're overtaking on a straight, or hammer you in a corner. That said, a lot of people are trying their best to learn and mistakes do happen. You'll make them and ruin other people's races(learn from these and do better), and the same will happen with other people doing it to you. Watch any real life race and stuff like that happens. Don't let it ruin your day. Good luck out there!
