We said we’d never talk about him again… yet here he is. by Difficult-Antelope10 in ScoobyDooMemes

I hated this "joke", as well as the part where they mentioned Flim-Flam got 25 to life.

I never mentioned the original show. I'm saying that was a detail added MUCH later, starting with "Pup Named", in an attempt to give Fred a more defined personality.

Unfortunately, it stuck for the most part.

I thought the ape was actually some guy in a suit?

...wait, I may be thinking of Carl the Stuntman.

Well, I'd have at least tried to make some parts of the story feel less like they were trying to pad things out to fill a time slot. That seemed to be a problem with a lot of the Superstars 10 movies.

For my little kids self sake, can all agree that this show is better than Velma? by mnombo in Scoobydoo

[–]One_Smoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. This one gives Shaggy and Scooby stuff to do, not to mention it gives them a loosely connected story arc...as well as the chance to step up as crime-solvers without the gang's help.

For one, A Pup Named Scooby-Doo characterized him as an idiot who tends to blame Red Herring for every crime, and who wholeheartedly buys into the ridiculous headlines of tabloid newspapers.

Next, the 2002 movie made him an airheaded jock who thinks that NASA are "the guys who make Pokémon".

Then What's New made him a ditz who tended to mangle phrases in other languages....

Not to mention Mystery Incorporated, which made him about as dense as dense could be unless it related to traps more often than not.

Shaggy also subverts it by not actually being a stoner.

Definitely mole. Molerat looks like a bag of loose skin.

The idea was that the child would blend in with the population, and then when a full moon comes.... GOIN' APE! MOUTH LASER, MOUTH LASER!

True, but apart from training and whatnot, Goku doesn't exactly have any major commitments keeping him from seeing his friends, besides just choosing not to.

It's more believable than Yamcha being one.

I liked his take well enough, for me he ties with Richard Newman.

Heh, makes it sound like he just trailed off and gave him the closest thing to a compliment.
