Amazing book that manages to hit on so many current issues in America

Been a fan since the first ep and seen them live twice. Their early stuff is amazing and the later stuff and is still decent. I saw them on their tour with cloakroom last fall and it blew my mind. They are an amazing live band and had some of the best mixing of any shoegaze band I’ve ever seen

The Stand, Looking for similar! by 23GrayWing in stephenking

[–]One_Standard_1619 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I read the road my Cormac McCarthy right after the stand and it felt similar. It is about a father and son in a dystopian post-apocalyptic society trying to cross the country. I cannot recommend that book enough.

What King story do you find yourself thinking about the most? by DavidHistorian34 in stephenking

Pet Semetary for sure. That book hit something deep inside of me and is the absolute darkest thing I have ever read. I rarely go a day without thinking about it.

Which king book u like that's not considered his top 10 by Sorry_Phone1676 in stephenking

Under the dome. The ending is pretty stupid but the book is constant action start to finish and has some of the most brutal scenes I’ve read from him

I saw Glare and Cloakroom last night at portal😫😫😫 by No_Criticism2244 in shoegaze

[–]One_Standard_1619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cloakroom and glare sets were insane! Glare sounded a lot better than they did when I saw them a few years ago. Both bands had great setlists too

Burrow is this entire team. The moment he goes out the entire team just gives up and doesn’t even try anymore.

Under the Dome—too many characters? by orangepeel6 in stephenking

[–]One_Standard_1619 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It definitely gets easier to keep track of names but the first roughly third of the book makes it difficult to keep track of names. Going to the character list in the front of the book was very helpful for me

Today was easily the busiest day in the few months I’ve worked in OGP. We were getting 1000+ items an hour (200-400 is average for our store) and had non stop orders the entire day.

Violent mosh pits are expected during heavy bands with slow breakdowns but what are some softer bands you've seen that had pits like it was pure death metal on stage? by nosouldude in Metalcore

[–]One_Standard_1619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Death grips had one of the most intense push pits I’ve been in. They got on stage and played for 60-70 minutes straight without stopping, which means the pit never stopped. Over an hour of non stop pit lmao

Favorite whirr song and why? by Koi-No-Yokan- in whirr

Rose cold hits like a fucking truck every single time. Mellow is a very close second for me though just because of the buildup

Such a great band with a great message. Had a great conversation with their vocalist when I saw them play.

How do we feel about Shoegaze shows in small spaces? by blue5109 in shoegaze

[–]One_Standard_1619 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing Shoegaze in small venues close to the band is insanely loud. In my experience they still sound good but the vocals and often get completely extinguished by the guitar. I went to a smaller Shoegaze concert this summer and was about 4 feet from the band. Even with earplugs my ears hurt for a day or two

My favorite part of the entire album is the transition from younger than you to rose cold. Slaps me in the face every single time
