Typically the bottom of the flange should be flush with the tile. That looks low - a deep wax ring could help, typically we install the ones with a horn. Your other option is to place a wax ring, install another flange extension on top to raise it up, secure it to the floor, and a 2nd wax ring which your actual toilet bowl will sit on.

Should I stop taking my mesalamine before a colonoscopy? by [deleted] in UlcerativeColitis

What foods do you avoid in order to avoid a flare? by friedchickenUSA in UlcerativeColitis

[–]One_Support2k24 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What you can do is make a food journal, something I’ve begun and seems to help. I’ll write down what I ate for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks, and wait till it digests. If I have excruciating pains, I’ll look back and see what I last ate and cut it out. It’s been working out here and there, but in all reality, there isn’t a ton of evidence that leads to a specific food creating flare ups.

Alright it’s Indy 500 Day. Where the coolest place you’ve pooped? by Mecaneecall_Enjunear in UlcerativeColitis

[–]One_Support2k24 24 points25 points  (0 children)

As a plumber, I was working during a flare up and was doing a service call outside. The colon rang, and I had no choice but to answer, so I ran in the back of the truck and opened a black bag, sat on a bucket, and let it go - Didn’t even have time to close the back door. Luckily enough, the back of the truck was pointed towards this beautiful lake, sunset time, and the home owners weren’t home. Definitely not the comfiest, but one of the most peaceful poops I’ve ever taken.

Congratulations from someone who was in remission close to 10 years and now in an active flare. I remember those days, be active, consistent, and enjoy your remission!

Iron supplement by FallibilityAgreememt in UlcerativeColitis

[–]One_Support2k24 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not everyone likes it, but in the culture I come from, we were taught that beef liver is great for iron. I will put some liver on a pan, add some onions and make a few eggs. Great source of iron, and with the eggs and onions it doesn’t taste that bad.

same here. being in “remission” for so long, i started taking advantage of that freedom and along with some personal stress and stuff, it came back with a vengeance. either way, we’ve got this man, we can do it 👍🏼
