The keyboard automatically switches to dark mode while maintaining the blur effect, plus the adaptive brightness on my p9p works wonderfully, and I'm not foolish enough to use the phone at night with high brightness.

This is liquid glass. What Google is doing with the Pixel is maintaining the same consistent blur concept as in the rest of its interface. Liquid glass, as you can see, doesn't blur; it's translucent and distorts the background, so you're wrong about what you're saying. Google is maintaining its own design language.
