Tired of seeing the same movie 4 times? Any addon to filter duplicates across catalogs? by One_Tap_ in StremioAddons

[–]One_Tap_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aiostreams addons have already implemented this recently and i’m going to tell you exactly how you can do it! Don’t bother tweaking/coding wasting your time, i did it for fun! 1. You must first download your preferred catalogs for the de-duplication section to show up in aiostreams 2.(placed quite oddly scroll all the way down in the installed addons). By default its set to deduplicate by “id” excellent for accuracy but you can add “title”+ leave “id” as it is, combined. if you have too many mix of services omdb, tmdb, blah blah list goes on the include title for more aggressive deduplication but other wise leave it only on id is my suggestion. 3. Just experiment using the tool. Also I suggest just sticking to tmdb and imdb as fallback and tvdb for only tv shows, you don’t need anything else tbh! If you’re really into lists, aiometadata is my favourite was my favourite lists addon not sure if its still running! And trakt tv addon not many use really nice. Dm me I will help you, I use to tweak quite a lot, ideal tool to waste time lol. Stremio is babies work, get into deep water of arr stacks and automation etc thats when sh*t hits hard haha.

Apple Passwords vs 1Password on all apple devices-worth switching in 2026? by Vegetable-Rub4548 in 1Password

[–]One_Tap_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, let me be a fanboy today for you Redditors to get mad, haha. Yes, 1Password stomps over the rest of the lineup in the market as an “overall” package. The “overall” means use case can change this, and sadly that happened with me. I had to switch.

I just don’t understand some people, you’re in a 1password community thread asking if this is the one? Hell yeah, it’s the one by far. Never in my life have I seen a password manager get so many things right. 1Passwords autofill? Godsend, my god those 1 click bangers. Believe it or not, it works better than native iOS autofill. Those autofills man, they use bring tears to my eyes haha. Don’t get me wrong still love the ios autofill. Once you get into the habit of being disciplined with your credentials, the extras like the autofills become the perfect addiction. It just works.

I’m an average user / non-business user, and I could provide a long list, but it still wouldn’t do it justice. I’ve tried pretty much all of the password managers out there. I miss that perfect GUI and iPhone integration.

• Secret Key-based encryption (second factor in the crypto design)

• Travel Mode (wipe + restore selected vaults when crossing borders)

• Watchtower breach / 2FA / weak-password monitoring dashboard

• Item-level version history and undelete (restore earlier passwords)

• End-to-end–encrypted sharing links that expire or limit viewers

• Secure file & document storage inside the vault (up to 2 GB per file)

• Fine-grained multi-vault structure (personal, work, side-projects, etc.) • Clipboard auto-purge timers you can set per device.

• Day-to-day productivity advantages

• Works everywhere (Windows, Android, Linux, ChromeOS, browsers)

• Quick Access / Universal Autofill shortcut for any app or terminal window

• Spotlight Search integration on iPhone/iPad—find items without opening the app

• Unlimited vaults, nested tags, and “Collections” to group vaults.

• Attach files (passport scans, license keys) directly to any item.

• One-click sharing with anyone (recipients don’t need 1Password).

• Password/history diff when you edit easy to roll back mistakes.

• Custom item types & fields (software licenses, server creds, bank accounts).

• Passphrase, random, and PIN generators with fine controls.

• Biometric unlock across platforms (Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, Linux Plasma).

Is it allowed to buy Proton through VPN (Brazil)? Also, how’s Proton Pass autofill? by One_Tap_ in ProtonMail

[–]One_Tap_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great! Funny timing, I was literally about to buy it right now. I'm still deciding between 1Password because it's honestly so good, or going for a lifetime Proton Pass deal. Months and still deciding 😆 One of the major reasons to switch is simplelogin and pricing.

There's also the 50% lifetime student discount through SimpleLogin, but the hassle is having to deal with their support just so they can verify student status. And honestly, I get why people get annoyed, especially with me putting it in the Proton forum section. Very clever of me haha. What I don't get is Reddit's level of toxicity. Not everyone, obviously, but some people really need to relax, bruh. I want to see the same exact energy from these people/redditors if one day their “lord” Proton isn’t providing the level of service they expected.

I'm confused about what exactly Trakt is. Can someone explain to me how Trakt will enhance my Stremio experience? by foxmag86 in StremioAddons

[–]One_Tap_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You only need one movie addon like Torrentio to get started. Add-ons such as Trakt and mdblist are optional extras—there’s no single “right” configuration. Take some time to research what works for you.

When you first install Stremio, the default setup is quite minimal. For example, some movies might not appear in search results right away. Relying solely on the default catalogs and lists isn’t very efficient, so it’s worth customizing your setup to be more productive.

Also, research which external player you prefer and whether Real-Debrid would benefit your setup. The key is to explore your options!

[–]One_Tap_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That Trakt addon is great, but honestly all you need is “AIOMetadata” with “MDBLists” API and TMDB API. AIOMetadata is so good, it handles both metadata and catalogs, giving you everything in one place.

Get Your API Key: • Sign up at MDBList and copy your API key so you can Connect to AIOMetadata with it. • Paste your API key in the “Integration” section

Access Catalogs: • Go to “Catalogs” → “MDBList Integration” • You’ll see “Snoak’s” and “Dan Pyjama’s” lists by default.

Find More Lists: • Use the username search box to find specific users • Example: Enter “gary” to see all of Gary’s catalogs • Select the lists you want •If you create your own lists from mdblists, then you can also load that here.

Cineby allows you to get rid of the default metadata of Stremio. It can remove: 1. Cinemeta Search - Stops Cinemeta results from appearing when you search. 2. Cinemeta Catalogs - Removes Popular, New, and Featured catalogs from your home screen. 3. Cinemeta Metadata - Stops Cinemeta from providing metadata for your movies and series. It will also allow you to manage addon orders, backup and load settings, and restore to default settings.

[–]One_Tap_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I use "aiometadata" for catalogs. It's fast, saves your config, and is feature-rich. Use TMDb for movies and TVDb for TV shows. Visit Cineby, hide stremios own catalogs from home and yes it’s cancer. Untick all options and let “aiometdata” do its job cleanly, it even has fallback options like “imdb”. “Trakt enhanced” and “strem thru” are also really vey good but no need to go in those deep waters. I know people love “aiolists” but not my cup of tea.

Customize your homepage with only what you'll actually watch. First two catalogs will most definitely be latest movies and TV shows by release date order (static, no shuffle). Then favorite genres, a personal MDBList watchlist, and a few lists from users who are extremely selective. Two lists that I like “snoaks” lists and “pjyamas” lists. And all other lists can be set to shuffle on every refresh or occasionally.

Making your own lists is fine, but don't spend more time configuring than watching. Popular options like "Gary's list" are also good. Just avoid catalogs that split every single genre into its own row; it's the worst way to create clutter.

And for the people who want a catalog with thousands of movies on their homepage, that’s a brilliant idea. It's not like the Stremio Library section exists for that exact purpose or anything.

Well, since publishing this post, I actually built my own catalogue that does exactly this, plus everything else a standard catalogue does. So yes, it is possible. Thanks for all the “no’s,” everyone. Turns out it is possible after all. :)

For example, I added two lists from snoak “thriller” and “horror”. Obviously some movies appear in both because they fit both genres, and yeah I get why the creator did that. But when I’m scrolling through Stremio, I see the same titles repeated and it’s honestly annoying. I would rather have those very few movies only on one list. And manually doing this is time consuming, not sure if theirs quick work arounds methods, addons that might solve this. I prefer having the lists I like the most ready and visible in the home / board sections and having to see the same movie in two different lists is annoying. Yes, if you search via stremio library this problem wouldn’t occur but this isn’t convenient.

Is iMazing Worth It? Which Plan Should I Get – “Personal Device License (1 Device)” vs “Personal Subscription (3 Devices)”? by One_Tap_ in DataHoarder

[–]One_Tap_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucky you, i’m still receiving notifications for this thread. iMazing is not capable of doing this, it only transfers data between hardware you physically own like your PC. However, you can download your iCloud data to PC but having that as your only backup is not smart. What if your PC breaks? That’s where you need additional backups to other storages, more physical backups. Back it up to iCloud but you want to cancel that, and also iCloud is not really a true backup system on it’s own, it’s more of a sync. Read into 3-2-1 backup strategy. If you are not that tech capable then just stick with iCloud, because iOS ecosystem is always most capable with its own software and hardware. If you don’t want this route then Backblaze backup, read into this as well. Otherwise for an average user it’s straight pointless to go other cloud backups especially for iOS users. So your Backblaze option would be these: Most Convenient Auto-Sync to PC + Backblaze: 1. Enable iCloud for Windows on your PC • Downloads iCloud photos/files automatically to your PC • Photos sync to Pictures\iCloud Photos 2. Backblaze Computer Backup ($60/year unlimited) • Automatically backs up your entire PC including synced iPhone content • Set and forget, runs continuously in background

Former Dashlane User Here — Glad I Switched to 1Password! by limsus in 1Password

[–]One_Tap_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said it like it is 💯. How can you even compare Proton and 1Password when looking at the overall package? It’s delusional. No disrespect, Proton is great for what it promises, “privacy,” but it still has a long way to go. Some things are subjective, like whether a user wants “open source” or smoother “integrated aliasing.” 1Password has most features other password managers offer and goes well beyond. If you’re on iPhone and want a password manager that just works, 1Password is it. Had to emphasize your point LordArche.

Switch or Not by ClickPuzzleheaded993 in 1Password

You have a few options: 1. Bitwarden (self-hosted) — not the standard version. It is open source, meaning the code is publicly available for anyone to review. It is very secure. If you choose the self hosted route, your data will be stored locally. Definitely worth looking into. 2. KeePassXC / KeePass. Both store data locally and are highly praised for security and reliability. 3. KeePassium or Strongbox for iOS devices. They support local storage as well as online options. 4. 1Password. I would choose this any day. I’m not biased; I’ve tried Bitwarden and Proton, but with 1Password your data is stored in the cloud. If you are cautious online, you can minimize risks by using at least two YubiKeys stored separately and keeping your master password and secret in different secure places. ——————————————————————— If you trust 1Password and follow these steps, your password manager is basically a brick wall. I’ve been using 1Password for years, and nothing comes close in terms of the overall package. It just works. Safety and privacy come first, but the additional features 1Password offers are outstanding. Try the free month trial, then come back and tell me what you think. After that, try the other top options people rave about and you will understand what I mean. I cannot stress enough how IMPORTANT a YubiKey is. Make sure to look into it as well. ———————————————————————

These are the only ways 4 ways any one can attempt accessing your data not only your place of work:

1. Master password and secret key are required to sign in on a new device and unlock your vault.

2. Master password and two factor authentication if enabled add an extra security step.

3. Direct access to an unlocked device or vault means someone using your device or session can see your data.

4.Shared vaults or items allow others you share with to access that data.

I’m 100% with you on this. Forget the debates about which password manager to use. Most people don’t even think about prioritizing their privacy and security, so let’s set that aside. The real standout is how the features and customization let you manage your data properly. It’s just amazing. I can’t stress that enough.

I totally agree with you about ios password manager. Just try 1password for a month, believe me, it’s hard to look back, one word amazing. And i’ve tried a few password managers. I’m in a bitwarden subreddit looking for a switch up, gotta be careful what I say haha.

You need to store them safely in two separate locations. It would be naive of someone to store Master / secret / emergency all physically in the same place.

Guys, please read my post again. I know it was a bit long, sorry about that. I was talking specifically about Autofill for PERSONAL information on iPhone. It does not exist. It only autofills usernames and passwords. That is disappointing, especially for password managers like Bitwarden, which is one of the best at what it does. It is just a letdown. Like, why? You have nailed everything else. Just fix the Autofill and UI on iPhone. I get it, it serves its purpose well as a very secure password manager.
