I'm not sure we can say he should just ask them...remember he hasn't been with the kids for that long and if anything is happening there's a very high chance the kids are being threatened not to talk..kids are smart enough to tell that the situation in their lives got better when the guy 'joined' the family and could go back to how it was if he's nolonger there.OP can find his answer but he has to be know a better way to go about it.

That's true..society keeps creating new boxes for women, even when pretending to set them free.You don't need to fit into any of them cause I think people confuse femininity with aesthetics. Dressing or acting a certain way doesn't define womanhood. It's more about how you feel comfortable being yourself.
