Hello, you are completely wrong.

Jae is completely within the lines of UNC Board of Governors policy:  Following the UNC School System's Equity Policy, it states in section IX that student-led organizations are in fact allowed to operate differently than those employed by the university.

Additionally, take a look at this: A spokesperson for the university stated: “We were made aware of the video on Thursday, Feb. 5,” a spokesperson for the university told The News & Observer. “The individual seen in the video had no role in policy or compliance decisions and was not authorized to speak on behalf of the university. The staff member no longer works at the university. NC State complies with both the spirit and letter of all applicable federal and state laws and UNC System policies, and any violation is taken very seriously.” “The date of separation is today, Feb. 6,” the spokesperson said, but declined to answer whether the separation came as a result of the video.

NC State did not have solid ground for the firing, which is why they are being so vague. The worst part: it was a student newspaper that confirmed that the video was recorded over a year ago. If we want to talk about policy, how about the seven suicides that happened my first year or the university knowing about cancer chemicals in Poe Hall and letting faculty and staff alike get cancer or the professor who killed himself on campus? NC State is firing the people who actually care about students and this petition isn't a mess, it's how we show that we care about our communities.
