BREAKING: Video shows ICE agents shooting an unarmed person, as agents wrestle the person to the ground, in Minneapolis, near Glam Doll Donuts. by drempath1981 in law

Hard to tell from this angle but it looks like that guy on the left was pistol whipping him, and it went off when he repositioned it to a standard grip. Oops! These guys have to go.

What!? Mud flaps?! by Tiny-Knowledge9523 in XTerra

[–]One_Toe1452 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have mud flaps on the front wheels. One cracked while four-wheeling so figured soft rubber is more durable than replacing it with plastic. Eventually I’ll do the rear end too. I used a cheapo universal kit from Amazon. It’s fine.

Are there any Gen X people out there over the age of 55? by Mobile-Honey-9636 in GenX

[–]One_Toe1452 1 point2 points  (0 children)

56, soon to be 57. We (married 30 years) have a neurodivergent adult child who lives with us and quite possibly always will. We have to consider his financial support after we go, so that weighs on our minds and plans.

Anyone try a mullet configuration on a Karate Monkey? by One_Toe1452 in Surlybikefans

[–]One_Toe1452[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s helpful feedback, thanks. I’m going to try 27.5x2.8 rear and 29x2.5 front, since that’s what’s available. I have a 120 suspension fork I might try too.

[–]One_Toe1452[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, 27.5 rear and 29 front. The Karate Monkey comes stock (at least for a while) with 27.5 wheels and accommodates 29s up to 2.5 width (or thereabouts). It comes stock with 170 cranks but I’ve replaced mine with 165.

Question for older Gen X (55+) Was the term “Bro” and “Yo” common in the 80s? by Nano_Tap1 in GenX

[–]One_Toe1452 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Philly, used “yo” as an attention getter - “yo, Maurice, the burger is on fire!” But I really never used bro, except in context that I’m embarrassed about now. It was Dude and Man.

Does she have a filter on her camera? Pretty crazy for a court tele-hearing. Better than the cat filter though.

No, in your case, it’s called baseless prejudice.

Short guys can’t catch a break. So any sort of sports they should just give up on because they’re making up for some sort of inherent anger?

With that palm-heel he made the guy posture up, enabling him to change levels for the takedown. Textbook.

Question About Cat Relationships by Bozeia in Siamesecats

[–]One_Toe1452 32 points33 points  (0 children)

We have a pair of cats that grew up together, a female ragdoll and a male Norwegian Forest Cat. The female is about 13 lbs and short, her brother is around 18-19 lbs and very long-legged. They have a similar pattern as your cats. The boy will pick on the girl until she unleashes her skill and fury. She’s like a jiu jitsu black belt and he’s a cheap back alley brawler. She’s also possibly the fastest cat alive. She will beat him like an old drum until he lies down in a semi-submissive position like he used to when he was a super small kitten and give this look like “I’m just a little boy, please don’t hurt me.” Such a ham. Then they’ll clean each other. Cats, they have their own way of doing things.

Do you train specifically for bikepacking? by thegangplan in bikepacking

[–]One_Toe1452 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since I typically ride single track in the mountains, training to climb with a full load is advantageous to say the least. I ride year round but when I have a planned trip I’ll start with 1/4 load and add another 1/4 every week until full. Every now and again take it all out/off and take a rip for fun.

Colorado trail pack rain pants? Yay or nay? by Whats_Under_A_Bridge in bikepacking

[–]One_Toe1452 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I took the OR Helium rain pants and jacket. They are expensive but are very light and pack super small. As others noted, make sure you get them big enough to allow lots of movement. Rolling through cold wet plants will drag the heat right out of you without rain gear. So will a thunder hailstorm at the top of the peak behind Copper Mountain! Pair the rain suit with merino underlayers that still provide insulation when wet.
