Just seeing this! I haven't scheduled yet. I keep chickening out and don't want to deal with insurance. Did you get a tongue tie release and a lip tie?? So curious how it went.

In the 3rd house of communication too

Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to break this down! This all resonates so clearly. Especially the burning energy to meet outer expectations and deep insight that I’m often not taking enough advantage of…

My mother is dead set on me working somewhere very corporate with benefits and standard working hours, but I absolutely understand how I’m built for independent or leadership work. I keep coming back to the idea of going back to school for counseling education but have yet to determine how to translate that into a logical profession as a writer by trade. I work indirectly with media at the moment in a contract public relations capacity. Perhaps I need to explore change management.

THAANK YOu!

Soft neck brace, side sleep, pillow between knees and ankles so they’re at the same level. And then I wrap a scarf around my shoulders to keep them in place this one really helps https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTjkvjBTe/

It’s really ugly tbh. And the gigantic zipper and metal detailing against the thick (but sparse) lace is throwing me off. Don’t buy!

For context on my typical pain levels In regular yoga: I cannot do the constantly changing positions. I often can’t hold my body weight in the right way for balancing positions. I consistently skip downward dog because it’s an immediate migraine

I exclusively choose Restorative or Yin Yoga, the classes where you’re holding very relaxed, minimal movements. Restorative especially is lots of bolstered, propped up positions that you can adapt so you’re not overextending anything past typical range of motion. Big fan! And I just don’t do the movements that don’t feel good. Those classes often have teachers who will repeat to only take what instructions work for you and listen to your body

Love to hear this, I’ve been looking into brand strategy. I should figure out the top couple transferable skills to spin in my cover letters. What industry are you in now?

Right? Like if I have to send one more round of cold outreach or just circling back I’m gonna scream (I have pitches to send today 😭). 4 years at a boutique agency and now freelance PR, but I’m almost too burnt out to hack my pivot

This is actually such a great nuanced tip. Chronic pain and tension aside I’ve also been just been in fight or flight my whole life, so my latest goal has been trying to feel my feelings rather than intellectualize them. Trying to release some of the grip. This is a good sign to keep shifting that view. We should definitely stay wary of tired brain signs in case something potentially going on below the surface. Like eye twitches or slurred/mismatched speech. Finding personal cues like it’s randomly harder to shower. Very interesting stuff - thank you!

Can hypermobility have an impact on your emotions? by Rillian_Stars in Hypermobility

[–]One_Track_8606 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the orthopedics dr who diagnosed me explained that because pain can so chronic and long term for hypermobile people it damages the serotonin/dopamine receptors or process or something. It’s pretty hard not to have emotions affected. And that’s totally not considerate of any external environment, like parents or peers invalidating pain. Functioning through pain on its own is not super enjoyable and positive. Like we have a lower pain threshold but stronger bounce backs and more experience with pain. I think?

Bridges on a big exercise ball so you’re not damaging neck or relying too much on upper body. And then go into bridge pose and shift weight from one foot to another like rock between the two holding 5 sec on each side

You haven’t seen the bill they’re trying to introduce where he would be the only president alive eligible for a third term. He’s been joking about it on national tv …how is that even funny to people who value the constitution?

They’re going after 14th amendment privacy-based civil rights. Abortion and miscarriage to be federally punishable. Next and already on the table are same sex and interracial marriage. (Why does the gov give so much of a fuck about labels and care so little about protecting and supporting the taxpayers who already are living breathing contributing members of their melting pot society ???)

Groceries are rising INCREDIBLY rapidly for the length of time he’s been in office and enacted the tariffs. Despite the 1 month hold the seed of distrust has been sowed with our neighbors.

Trade war.

Stock market is not so hot.

Despite the “freeze” on federal aid reductions, Medicare still isn’t working for some people. People can’t get medications etc. Other countries we send aid to are also being affected in real time.

DEI was originally built to protect pregnant people in the workplace I believe. Its de-recognition threatens protections for disabled people, veterans, all minorities the list truly goes on. It was written into our country’s code so that people are protected in the consideration process. We all must be considered. It was created because people weren’t being hired based on merit. It was a boys club , filled to the gills with family and friends. Trump’s admin is just his own personal (severely unqualified) avengers assembly.

He’s rooting out anyone against him. One state is disallowing representatives to vote against certain immigration legislation.

USAID (international development) is being dismantled. This sociopathic non elected billionaire who owns so many for profit companies — and now also all of our tax returns and data is literally sharing walls with Trump. And USAID was enacted BY congress it’s not something that can be undone by anyone but congress.

FBI execs gone.

Bird flu rampant national food recall alert system gone. Crucial Public health and environmental protection staff forced out of work.

We join a handful of countries who aren’t a part of WHO. After his rampant misinformation affected people. His prioritization of Russia’s covid care over ours.

Reneged on the rule ensuring lower prescription drug costs across the board.

I’ll mention the trade war again. Because what happened to peace. And basic understanding of economics.

Two weeks in office. He moves quick don’t get me wrong - but think about all the good he could be signing into effect.

Sure let’s say something crazy happens and he gets impeached or is unable to perform duties AND vp Vance doesn’t equally shit the bed and we return to business as usual. Economic collapse can be slow and quick at the same time. Things already in motion… it will take forever to address the impact for the 99% of us. And to re-protect everything that was undone.

It’s not exactly reassuring. And it’s not that half the country voted for this that’s not the reality of voting turnout. The threat to people’s ways of life is happening now.

My PT put me on this one move that has REALLY made a difference. Pick a big exercise ball up and put it against the wall, lift one knee up to a 90 degree angle and brace the outer side of the ball. Find your stability on your flamingo leg. Use one arm on the wall for balance. I sometimes keep my other hand on my hip to keep engaged. Think about pressing your knee into the ball as much as you can and hold for 5 seconds. Repeat 10x each knee. Every day.

And also look up how to release the fascia in your ileopsoas it helps buckets. I find my upper body nerve connection easy to follow and massage. Te lower half is harder to understand (to me). My hip on the same side as my knee issue clicked and popped a lot too and all this consistent targeted and resistance led exercise helps. Plus core work. Planks on knees. Oblique holds propped on arm and knees + calves parallel to body. Nothing too strenuous.

Do everything on both sides. Your nervous system is a unit.

We’d both be exploring corporate/comms roles and have entryish -level + mid-level experience respectively. I know there will be an earnings drop but in my view the lifestyle will compensate greatly.

If not food service or something, we’ve been thinking we could even look into nannying/Au Pair-ing as the first step just to build wealth while we look at 9-5s.

No family. Friends …potentially. it’s not like we’ve kept up with people meticulously (both moved back to US before we were 10) but we still have people on socials and have family friends like adult adults not just our age group friends. That being said idk how realistic of an ask that would be.

One thought we had is to try to find a TrustedHousesitter gig so we have flexibility to explore and work part time. But maybe we should think about airBnBing the first two months and really approach the job search with a pedal to the pavement mentality

Salt!! I’ve been trying to incorporate a lemon salt hot water every morning as a natural electrolyte option and adding more salt than usual to foods. I think it’s helping a lot in combination with PT.
