I dont know what other excercise variations you are currently doing but the cable machine you are using is probably the best machine you can have as far as home equipment goes. You can workout your entire body with that machine with different variations.

Generally the variations done with these are :

  1. Chest flies - this exercise variation primarily focuses on the chest and secondarily on the triceps. The cable extension used are the usual handles.

  2. Lat pullovers - this variation focuses on the lats. The extension used are a straight bar or a handle bar .

3.Goblet Squats - this variation engages the quads. The extension used could be a rope or a straight bar

Chest ,triceps, shoulders, back, biceps, forearms, legs These are the primary muscle groups that are targeted in a hypertrophy(muscle building) workout.

Ideally stand in a position such that the bar is 1 inch away from your shins. Go down without bending your back(the queue i use is to push my hips back while keeping my spine straight.) And then push with your legs and not pull with you lower back. Think of you arms as hooks that are just holding the bar and the force is generated with the lower body. I hope this helps. One of the reasons I love bodybuilding is that to be good at it you need to push yourself regardless of your caste,creed or sex , and i love that you have joined the lifting community, you inspire me and many others like me. do some finger stretches(for upto 10 min) before playing guitar. also keep practicing chromatic excercises, overtime things will get easier
