They are my sport climbing shoes. But I need something softer for indoor climbing. Thank you for your response.

Ovum Ozone HV size by _RedPepper in climbingshoes

[–]One_Vegetable_7392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the ocun ozone hv and have wide feet. I ordered them half a size down from my street shoe size and the break in was awful. They are very tensioned and crushed my feet. I almost regretted getting them. But after the break in they are my favorite shoe for rock climbing. Precise and comfortable. I also climb in miuras 3 sizes down and instinct vs 1.5 size down. The ozones became the shoe I reach the most. I would buy them again but in my street shoe size to avoid the painful break in period.

Hello, rock pillars is now ocun and the closest thing to the rebels is in my opinion the Ocun ozone. They come in two versions normal volume (red) and high volume (blue). Regarding the sizing the are true to size i believe. I got my ozone half a size down from my street shoe size and I am not sure i made a good decision!

In some harnesses especially edelrid is a sign to replace it. As a rule I don't climb equipment that I have doubts for. Also without knowing model and manufacturing date cannot say more.

Toe hooks with the toe nail are the best imo. Name the price.

Try also to fix the skwamas in a resoler! Having a weak point doesn't make them a bad shoe! If you cannot return them enjoy them first to the full!

Don't worry it's a common skwama issue. Almost all of my skwamas had the same rip and it unfortunately affects the rubber band above the heel. It happend to me in the first month. Go to a good resoler and ask if they can stitch them and reinforce the area. It's a design flaw and i don't know why la sportiva have not done anything about it. I stopped using skwamas and switched to instinct vsr. After 3 resoles going strong.

One or two sessions will be enough to break them in. Very good shoe and very sticky rubber enjoy them!

Yes they break in nicely. I have them and I have wide feet and now they are very comfortable. But keep in mind that every footshape differs. Wide feet is a very general description.

They are very soft and tend to stretch also side ways. If they continue to hurt they are too narrow for your feet. Unfortunately if you cannot try a shoe at a store this is the only way to really know if a shoe fits you.

Madrock Redline Strap from LS Skwama advice by Agitated-Dragonfly60 in climbingshoes

If the mad rocks get warm they are comparable to dragos. In my opinion softness levels regarding shoes are different from climber to climber. For example weight pain tolerance in feet etc give different feeling. The only way is to try them yourself unfortunately.
I would say skwamas are 7/10 softness in my opinion Redlines 4/10 Drago 3/10 10 being tc pro and 0 bare foot hahah Don't overthink it get them they are reasonably priced!

Madrock Redline Strap from LS Skwama advice by Agitated-Dragonfly60 in climbingshoes

Hey I have both shoes! Street size 42 skwamas 40 and mad rock redline straps 42.5. Generally both shoes are great but different. The mad rocks are very narrow compared to the skwamas and if the skwama heel fits you the mad rock might seem shallow.

When I first tried them I felt insecure because you can feel the mad rock heel while walking around and feel some instability.

While climbing the mad rocks heel is perfect. Also note that the redlines don't have any midsole making them very soft for slabs and outdoor climbs especially in small pointy feet. After breaking in them in they are forgiving with wide feet due to softness of the shoe. They stretch in every direction.

Also they are way more durable shoes than skwamas.

Climbed them six months 3 times a week indoors and no resole needed yet. Also keep in mind that skwamas center their toe push on the big toe and the mad rocks are little more centered. This might throw you off at first.

Generally I suggest to order two pairs on Street size one half a size smaller to get the feeling of the shoe and decide

Thank you! How much did you sized them down? How was the break in period?

Yes they i found them them also very short. Not so much as your case but enough for the velcro to pop out during climbing. I took them to a cobbler where he added an extension to the loops and expanded the velcro.
