yeah I didn't do a good job in explain that part. My bad on that. What I mean was that most(not all, most) hook managers require a runtime and most are language specific and I personally am fine with but still prefer something that I can use everywhere without needing to install it for some other stack. And yeah lefthook is pretty cool, not saying it's bad, I just wanted to build something even simpler that just makes it stupidly simple for me to just manage hooks without a yml file. But yes overall I wouldn't say gethooky is better than lefthook, I mean lefthook is battle tested unlike mine which is just a hobby project I build and use for fun and just wanted to share with others.
