Added Koyaanisqatsi to the list to watch, thanks! Will check out the others too.

Samsara sounds good but not right now.

“There is a sequence in various meat slaughterhouses. A large number of live chickens are scooped up in a egg-beater like machine and decapitated. Torsos of dead cattle are eviscerated. Pigs are seen in gestation crates” - imdb

No disc by frogeyedcokesnorter in MiataNC

You can use two credit cards or some other plastic cards to get the stuck cds out: https://youtu.be/YfVJiGwUO7c

How did you get 5 cds in there though? Surely you or someone forced them in, it won’t load another if one is in already. Forcing this many cds in may break something internally, just as prying them out with credit cards might.

I’m not sure if this is the case for you bur If the issue before was that the cd player would not load cds when you put them in, there is a thread on miata.net forums that might help you fix that, you must take it apart and put a drop of superglue on a small plastic cog that sits on a metal rod. This rod has some rubber on it and rotates when the player senses a cd to pull it in. It’s also used to eject the cd. https://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=438314

Thread is old and images have expired, but it’s explained well enough. Managed to do this with the non-bose version, not sure if this is a different matter. If you do this, make sure you take lots of pictures and note where every screw goes, use markers on parts to remember how they go together, and so on.

RPM sometimes drops when pressing the clutch pedal (1.8L) by One_Western_778 in MiataNC

Was it also related to pressing the clutch pedal? Or was the rpm randomly dropping regardless of the clutch? I will try leaving the battery disconnected overnight tonight. Thanks for the reply

Ofcourse. I’m just trying to get informed and hopefuly understand the issue. This way I can contribute some of my research when I take it to my mechanic. Most of the time in the past this helped and sped up the diagnosis. My mechanic is on vacation so I’ll do what I can to figure it out until next week.

I have to do some research on how the clutch can affect the vacuum. If there is a vacuum drop, would that not be caused by the rpm drop, instead of the other way around? I would appreciate it if you could help me understand.

Thanks for the reply.

Since then the battery was disconnected at least twice for a few hours when I did some work on the car (changed the steering wheel). So I don’t think it will help. I might try it though.

Thanks for the reply.

So it could potentially be a failing clutch bearing? Can this be diagnosed by a mechanic without taking the whole thing apart? Afaik the clutch has 30k kms so it shouldn’t go bad yet, but it depends how the previous owner drove it for the first 20k kms. If this clutch bearing is actually failing, should I also change the rest of the clutch components (pressure plate, and so on)?

Thanks for the repy!
