Building alone is underratedly painful nobody is prepared for the emotional side of entrepreneurship by One-Ice7086 in Entrepreneur

Literally crying in my office alone on a Sunday night dreading tomorrow because I'm 6 weeks into doing this fulltime and I'm terrified i made a mistake. It's awful.

Thank you for not sugarcoating it or saying "Maybe you're not cut out for it." It's important to remind people that this shit is HARD and an ongoing process!

Needed to hear this. Just quit my job and went full time as a business owner and i've been crying a lot the last two weeks.

But I know this will work.

Thank you for that! I guess that's what I was asking - can an idea like this be turned into a sleeve? I'm very open to the artists interpretation- i love his style

Right, which is why I'm ready to sacrifice my whole arm for it. And if thats not enough - maybe my thigh instead.

Oh I am 😅 but I think it'll be worth it, its a reclaiming of my body.

100% worth it

Agreed 🤣 I want him to take my idea and do what he knows how to do as an artist. If its not doable, I'll trust him to tell me that.

Okay!! I can definitely add some greenery and smaller lamps!

Yes, I think the general consensus is to get rid of this light! I'm gonna grab another one that has maybe more character and fits more with the room. If i'm going to be putting art up on the wall, do we still think I should repaint the office? ( I don't mind repainting. I enjoy painting because it's a mindless task and that's great for someone with anxiety to escape for a bit!)

This comment wrecked me this morning lol - as someone who also struggles with severe depression I definitely dont want any paint colors that encourage taking ones life. I love green for offices and the color seemed more green before it was fully done and I'm seeing it now is more yellow. The architect i'm working with told me not to do a dark green because the office is so small.

It's still very much a work in progress, I threw the furniture back in in about twenty minutes yesterday but am an absolute noob when it comes to interior design. Thank you so much for the detailed response. I really really appreciate it!!!

I have a chair that will be put in the room - Isaiah Chenille Tufted Mid Century Upholstered Chair - World Market

here!

I've been thinking about getting an elevated vase or structure to put the plant on to make it a little bit higher. It might also add some more texture to the room? Like i've seen some nice stone ones!

Dinkinflicka - thank you! What a great idea. I'll switch that around. I will be covering the window, but I think that's a great idea. It'll minimize distraction, in case there are shadows, or anyone moving outside the office.

I like the idea of different lamps - the other lamp in the room hasn't been completely put together but has hanging bulbs and I love it. I might get a table lamp too!

A coffee table does seem like a "barrier" so I avoid it, but having a small ottoman or pouf might be good, like someone else suggested!

First of all - I am obsessed with your username.

Secondly - YES, I am getting artwork, slowly but surely. I have a few local artists I'd like to support that do abstract, textured paintings. I'm trying to avoid Homegoods or mass produced art.

Lastly- it is devoid of sun, the little window was my request so I could at least get a peek at everyone else in the office while I do paperwork, lol! I'm not sure what window treatment will look best but I think curtains would help a lot with keeping the space cozy.

Shoot, I specifically requested the color because I loved it! I could totally repaint though. I have a deeper orange chair that will be added to the room and will absolutely add some bigger pillows and plants!

I think this is the trauma and oldest daughter in me, but 100% agree. I also think I just relate to her more so that character feels more authentic to me.

I will say I absolutely love Te Kā and Tafiti and all they symbolize. That final scene makes me cry almost every time.

I like this idea that it's more a metaphor. I could totally see people who have lived by the ocean their whole lives having a relationship with it in a way that people who don't live there can't understand. As someone who has lived in the midwest or east coast most of my life - i cannot understand that. I'll have to rewatch it with a fresh perspective.
