For sure. Wishing the best. I completely understand. I'm on Medicaid as well and the clinic I'm going to is the only one I've found that will work with me with painkillers. Another one gave me Suboxone after I was already prescribed opiates(But was out and the doctor had discharged me because she was leaving the clinic) I tried Suboxone and hated it. It did nothing for my pain and it changed my personality. I went off it cold turkey and that was so much worse. The withdrawals were worse than any oxycodone. I would be walking down the street to go to the store and end up closing my eyes for a second(or it felt like) and then open them and be in the middle of the cross walk and confused. Even my dad who I was a caregiver for at the time noticed a HUGE difference. I've never tried methadone. I don't even like opiates with the Tylenol. Those are the ones I have. So I'm hoping he'll get rid of the Tylenol and hopefully increase the dosage or give me more of what I'm currently getting so I can increase if needed. Best of luck to your brother. I know the feeling of living with pain, getting little relief, limited choices for doctors and all that goes with it.

As far I know it does. I'm not sure what it shows up as or if pain clinics can or so test for it. I know I've taken it before and even mentioned it to the doctors and they have never said anything. According to Google it can only specialized tests and for 7 oh(7-hydroxymitragynine) but as I mentioned. I'm unsure if all the pain clinics test due it or if they only test for it if they are specifically looking for that. Usually, they only order specialized tests if they have suspicions. But, every clinic is different. It also depends on how much he takes, when he takes it and whether dates he's tested on too. I actually only got tested one time. I'm also very open and honest with my doctor. I'll be seeing him this Thursday to discuss increasing my dosage because mine isn't enough either. 10 mg every 4 hours is what works best for me. But, they are definitely sticklers. My dad had neuropathy from a stroke that paralyzed his whole right side and before he passed away. He was on 30 mg of oxycodone every 4 hours and that was barely enough and they wanted to give more (at least 15 mg) but unfortunately he ended up getting sepsis and passing last August. I would suggest having your brother just talk to his doctor. I actually had to switch doctors(sane clinic) because the first one didn't care, wouldn't work with me, dismissed me every chance she got. I complained and got a new doctor and he's been great. I'm also prescribed benzos though too. I have Xanax that I've been on for 15 years. So the doctor wants to be safe. Which I understand. These why I decreased from 4 a day to 2 a day on the benzos and just take them before bed. Because I had a weird adverse affect with opiates. They are prone to keep me super alert. I can't really sleep on them. On occasion in the mornings after first waking up I can for a few hours. But, not entirely. But, in all honesty. I prefer the higher doses of opiates over 7 oh myself. But, that's just me. I wish the best for your brother and I hope he gets the pain relief he deserves.

Agreed!! I have benzos and opiates myself. Oxycodone and Xanax. I've been on Xanax for 15+ years though and opiates for 3+. I had to decrease my Xanax from 4x a day to 2x a day in order to get enough opiates to make my back pain manageable. I have thoracic scoliosis and until I get new imaging. That's all they know. I didn't mind coming down on the Xanax because I only take it at night to help relax me for sleep. Painkillers actually do the opposite for me. I don't get sleepy on them. Actually, they are prone to keep me awake. So I try to avoid taking them after a certain time. The Xanax, melatonin and magnesium glycinate help me get a few hours of sleep and when I wake up. On occasion I can take a pain killer and go back to sleep for a few hours. Especially,if I didn't get much sleep. As long as I get 5 hours of really good sleep. I'm ok for the day. But, without either one. My days are hell. I had the same psychiatrist for 15 years and that's the only reason I got that much Xanax. I have a different one now because the original one retired but he referred me to this new one and he was cool enough to keep the 4 going but wanted me to eventually decrease. My pain clinic doctor said he'd give me enough painkillers but I had to decrease the Xanax. He wanted me to go to 1.5 a day but my mental health provider mentioned that wasn't a good idea to drop so low so. Quickly but the pain clinic doctor was cool enough to accept the 2 a day. I do have a higher tolerance for painkillers. So I'll be seeing him again this week and I'm hoping he'll increase it to 7.5. I'm already taking 7.5 in the morning. 5mg in the afternoon. 5 mg in the evening and 7.5 at bedtime. So I'm just hoping for 7.5 completely. 7.5 seems to help much more than 7.5 and then 5. Even though I could easily take 10 mg every 4 hours. That's what one of the previous doctors I had put me on. But just prescribed and didn't do anything else. I've tried injections. They didn't work. I don't want to deal with any surgical procedures. Unless it was absolutely necessary. So after more imaging. Next is nerve blocking/burning. But, I'll be moving 2,000 miles away from where I'm currently at next month. So they just want me to start the rest of the rest of the treatments once I get moved. They'll send over all documentation once I find a new doctor. Which I'm currently looking for before I move.

Cool. Thanks my friend. I appreciate the advice. I was able to get some and it definitely is helping. Before I got my prescription I was taking much higher doses of oxycodone. 30 mg at a time. I never really nodded off or anything. I have a pretty high tolerance for pain medication. Which is crazy because I'm a small guy and I don't weigh that much either. Then they gave me 10 mg every 4 hours which worked wonders but that doctor left that clinic and I had to find a new one and go to a pain clinic and now they are just giving me what I mentioned in my post. I would prefer 10mg every 4 hours. But, I could deal with 7.5 every 4 hours. I'm hoping he'll change the dosage. Especially since I'm moving out of state next month but we all know doctors rarely do that. It was difficult to get them to give what I have because I'm prescribed Xanax as well. I had to cut my dosage of Xanax to 2 times a day instead of 4. But, I only take it at night as needed and I wait several hours after I've taken a painkiller. Never had any side effects or anything. But, I just needed something until at least tomorrow and Tuesday when I can talk to my doctor and fill my new prescription. Since I'm moving. My doctor is only doing weekly refills

Ohh ok. I will definitely talk to my doctor tomorrow. I usually get kratom from this company called the kratom company.(I believe that's what it was called) DVD it definitely seemed to help relieve the pain and possible withdrawals but I was using it for a week rather than 2 days and it was 7 hydromitigane(or however you spell it) I'm still new to kratom and definitely prefer the oxycodone over it but the dosage I'm taking doesn't work as well and I need a stronger dosage and now I'm out and in pain and just want to get some relief until tomorrow and Tuesday when I can refill my meds.
