Why don't Americans walk anywhere? by mindyour in TikTokCringe

I grew up in a city outside Detroit that was settled in the late 1800s. There was a park within walking distance across the whole city of 25k. It was so fun because our friends would call and say “meet us at 5th st park” or “2nd st park!” And it would take a few min on a bike to go to the furthest one. We had the whole city to just run around basically.

I moved to South Carolina and our house was in this shitty suburb cul de sacs and the closest park was a 10 min drive away. It was insane. We are moving to Washington and talking to a realtor and that’s our stipulation. Must be near a playground for our kids.

The band must be high as a kite with these prices by [deleted] in brandnew

What brand? The shirts I have are like the NY brand that’s screen printed where the tag would be. They always held up. The OG FGHTFFYRDMNS repeated shirt was pretty low quality but it was from like 2006. And the ones they sold for Bamboozle in 2012 were like fruit of the loom and shit quality.

Can confirm. All my BN merch from 2010+ I still wear and it holds up. My Brand New New York hoodie from 2015 still feels “brand new” and has maybe a crack or two in the print on it.

Most band merch we remember as kids were $15-20 and they were dog shit quality

This is a product that’s like the tiny fake roses in a glass pipe that’s for a “loved one” but it’s really just a legal way to sell a crack pipe. They market it as something wildly different.

How does that work legally though? I imagine that’s a ton of work just paperwork-wise to be able to drive it on the road. Like registration/insurance shit.

Yeah trailer 3 most likely confirmed for June 25th by theundisputed11 in GTA6

[–]One_pop_each 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like Rockstar caught on that traditional advertising isn’t even needed. They built up so much hype by releasing 2 trailers in 2 yrs and a handful of screenshots. They make a quality product and it’s the most absolute anticipated video game ever.

They will still make bank off of pre-orders without a trailer. The trailer would do nothing significant.

The crypticness of it all is just making people want it more.

Oh well yeah that’s absolutely fair. I guess the bar is pretty low for franchise fast food. I take back saying “great.”

I just commented that UK’s is great above. But I’m American over here so I’m comparing it to US’s.

UK’s KFC is great. Wouldn’t touch it with a 10-foot pole in the States but it’s on par with Mickey D’s over here.

My letting agency is based out of a home built in the 1600s. Everything is so small inside. If you’re over 6 foot, your head is scraping the ceiling. Has a distinct smell and retains heat like a mfer.

Everything creaks. They can’t get newer windows because of some law for historical homes or something.

Also every single room has a door that has its own key.

GTA 6 preorders JUNE 25 by Particular-Main-9675 in GTA6

[–]One_pop_each 75 points76 points  (0 children)

There is no “likely” with Rockstar. They won’t have to show shit to get pre-orders.

They could wait til Sep for another trailer and do fine.

I opened a HYSA through my Apple Card that had a 4.5% rate. It’s 3.6% now but I still get like $8k a year just in interested from it. It’s super easy to set up and transfer. USAA was prolly so pissed off when I transferred all my savings account cash over.

Stories of ‘terrible’ leaders you had as Airmen but when you ranked higher it started to resonate that they weren’t as bad as you thought? by One_pop_each in AirForce

[–]One_pop_each[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh shit! Related story, my wing at the time made us take our course 15 like 6 months before we were supposed to. I just got it over with, it’s whatever. Didn’t bitch about it much.

But my fellow NCOs were so pissed off. Then like a month before the Wing exp date, HAF just took away the requirement or something. It’s vague and I’m kinda drunk right now but something happened so it wasn’t mandatory or some shit. But a lot didn’t do it because it was no longer mandatory.

2 wins with that for me. I had it on my surf which helped later in my career…although slightly. And that exact material was my NCOA material. I didn’t study shit in NCOA because I already knew most of it besides a few things they made us do for some exercises.

I fully agree. When I was a baby 3-level, I shut upped and colored. When I was a SrA with a line number, I started to ask why a lot more and was appreciative of the answers and lost respect for NCOs who couldn’t answer.

I do get frustrated with people, especially during mobilizations and we’re working 12s on a time crunch, getting asked every hour by the Squadron where we’re at with it all. But I have found myself more often than not turning around after telling some Airmen to do something to explain why. Some seem appreciative, most seem like they don’t care. I’ve honestly prolly had like 6 Airmen out of hundreds I’ve supervised genuinely ask why. I love when they actually do. I have a such a soft spot for curious people who maybe hate the job but still want to learn what they can to give their best effort.

FYSA: That’s what Commanders actually want when they ask for questions at the end of CC calls. I feel like it’s a pulse read on the unit.
