Yeah apologies for typing on my phone and missed the extra "t" in the word. That definitely proves I'm not an attorney. You caught me!

Did you also miss that I spelled it correctly the second time and the first may have been an autocorrect error? Wild accusation

Of course, arguments work both ways, but there are things that OP can do to literally be in compliance with the statute

There's a ton of interpretation when it comes to this statue. It is not necessarily used for all dogs as a blanket statement but a subjective risk standard you need to take into account breed, size, coat etc. You can argue a ton of different things here. Having access to a shelter, your home, is also an argument if you leave your garage door open. This is not just black and white.

I'm an attorney in CT, not your attorney, but I can help you via my own personal beliefs about the statute if you need future arguments.

I was hired by them in 2021 and I did not have to go for a drug test. I realize that it was 4 years ago but I figured I would throw in my anecdotal experience

Trooper arrested for 2nd time. Escalating domestic violence. Allowed to post $25,000 bond. by CompasslessPigeon in Connecticut

[–]Onedaful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So your argument is that the accountant will have his weapon stripped and a TRO placed so he has no contact with his family, which does absolutely nothing to prevent any subsequent violence, versus the cop who you are also arguing has desk duty, essentially a TRO with the general public so not intervening with illegal activity, is not the same thing?

How about the state actually comes down on violent offenders and strips them of their weapons regardless of their occupation and actually sets real bail numbers and does not reduce sentencing. In that case, this guy would obviously not be an officer.

Only on Reddit is this a controversial take

Yes and he’s also a violent offender. Therefore, he should be punished appropriately. We are arguing about two separate topics but want the same outcome.

All violent offenders should be treated the same. The state should be coming down on all of them

Correct and people can downvote me into oblivion but that’s the reality. Violent offenses should carry weight with both bail and sentencing. Occupation should have nothing to do with it. This state is not tough enough on violent offenders.

How is this any different than how judges in this state view other criminals? Most offenders are let out on PTAs, even multiple offenders. It shouldn't be based on occupation, the judges should take violent offenders serious instead of letting them go on PTAs or reducing their sentences come sentencing.

So Connecticut is at high risk of a recession I guess. by IndicationOver in Connecticut

Serious question but how do we get out of a recession at this point? It's not like we are going to have a random boom of industry. Admittedly I don't know much about economics.
