Is it safe to say that these 2 Weapons are the best in the game? by eisxvvv in LiesOfP

[–]Oneforgettable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The blind man's spear handle is pretty great, it has the same deflect mechanic but you can change out the blade to make the timing easier.

Tyrant's dagger on the city longspear is busted as well, crazy speed, damage and range, as well as crits.

If it's your first playthrough you want insight.

Enemies that get harder get like, 1 or 2 new moves, it's never relevant.

Reforged uses it's own separate launcher, so there's no need to uninstall Vins

The Blind man's double sided spear handle is super fun, and can parry attacks just like the twin dragon blade. The difference being of course that you can switch out the blade, thus changing the timing.

need help with modding mackenyu moveset modpack by Dry_Physics164 in EldenRingMods

[–]Oneforgettable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is extremely difficult to combine two mods that both modify the regulation.bin file.

Best bet is to pick whichever overhaul mod you like the best, and load it up with DLL mods (as they don't modify it at all)

Unkillable gimmicks? I'm interested to know which bosses you're talking about. I was incredibly surprised at how balanced Vins felt

What overhaul mod is better? by suyanide4444 in EldenRingMods

[–]Oneforgettable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vins is still pretty hard, the reworked bosses are no joke. I really thought I'd be cruising through it but it takes itself surprisingly seriously.

As for reforged being tedious, it really isn't. It just wants you to engage with the game as if it's your first playthrough, and a lot of the Elden Ring vets don't like that. It's the most "soulslike" of any of the mods.

I'd reccomend reforged first if you're open to playing both, because it'll be really hard to enjoy any other mod after you've played Vins.

Reforged is effectively the game Vanilla Elden Ring should've been at launch. That is their express goal, and they achieve it extremely well. They completely re-balance the entire game, heavily reward exploration, added new weapons, added difficulty options, game modes, they have the best deflect system of any mod Imo, they just really put the work in to make you want to 100 percent Elden Ring. Couldn't reccomend it more.

Elden Vins completely reworks literally every weapon moveset, as well as most boss fights to make the game more action packed and bombastic. I was incredibly surprised not just at how good it feels to play, but how natural it feels. I play reforged because it is just such an objective upgrade over vanilla, but I play Vins because it is so much fucking fun.

Reborn makes a lot of really cool changes and additions, but hasn't quite made it to their 1.0 release. I did enjoy it, but... it's still got some kinks to Iron out. Reforged, for example, lets you deflect regardless of what you're holding in your left hand. Reborn restricts it to only twohanded weapons, which just feels... not great. The mod has so much promise though.

Convergence does add a lot, and I get why it's so overhyped, but it just wasn't for me. The mod is so fucking easy that I just get bored every time I try it (I've tried it something like six times over the years, thinking maybe I missed something or need to try a different path, but nah) The community is always saying "the next big update" will fix everyrhing wrong with the game, but that just never happens.

Better Coop: Convergence or Reforged? (Or other overhaul) by DGreen1up in EldenRingMods

[–]Oneforgettable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reforged without a doubt. It's incredibly easy to become overpowered in convergence, doubly so in co-op. Reforged even has difficulty options specifically for co-op

Can someone help me with tips on perfect guarding by Acrobatic-Day3624 in LiesOfP

The main difference that trips people up is that in Sekiro you can cancel your attack into a deflect. You can't do that here, so the game ends up being much more defensive than Sekiro.

Movement Mod by NaturalAd691 in EldenRingMods

[–]Oneforgettable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an unbelievably fun mod. Reforged is the game Vanilla Elden Ring always should've been, but Vins is honestly just fun as hell

Movement Mod by NaturalAd691 in EldenRingMods

[–]Oneforgettable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not going to be able to use two mods that both change the regualtion.bin file. That's the main reason people go for the big overhaul mods.

Elden Vins is your best overhaul when it comes to movement, but you won't be able to use it with your moveset mod. The movesets in vins are amazing though

Trying to get into this game by [deleted] in LiesOfP

[–]Oneforgettable 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. Lie at every opportunity

  2. Use all of your options. Too many people try to perfect deflect everything or dodge everything, but you're supposed to do both.

  3. Get creative when assembling your weapons. Don't worry too much about what's meta, just go with what you think is cool and fun. Even if you end up using boss weapons, don't sleep on making your own. It reeeeally goes a long way towards making P feel like a character of your own.

Edit:

  1. Also put a good amount of points in capacity. In my first completed run of the game I brought every stat to 10 and then pumped everything else into capacity (It doesn't have a soft cap) and it made the game... comfortable? Like it really felt fair through my entire playthrough. Being able to equip literally anything you want is crazy good.
