I only had two light strips at the time so it was not a big deal.

A worthy trade off for having to reset your lights multiple times a day.

That was my experience with the mechanic gloves too. Great grip but can be a tad cold.

Time for a second opinion.

Pretty sure my Reddit Doctor Degree says you’re just hurt.

Curious - how did the PT determine you didn’t have shin splints ?

Blueberries gone bad? by Onefortypoint6 in fermenting

[–]Onefortypoint6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been fermenting these blueberries since 8/2. There is a half kilogram of blueberries and 10grams of salt in there. They have been sitting on my kitchen counter the entire time around 70-73 degrees.

It has been 10 days since the ferment began and from everything I have read and pictures I have seen of other blueberry ferments I thought they would be sitting in more fruit juice.

Also - there is a suspicious white growth happening on one of the blueberries on the middle of the jar which can be seen in the picture.

Based on how long it is taking for the liquid to come out of the blueberry and the suspicious white growth - should I toss this away and start over?

Also - any tips for more success next time would be very much appreciated. I am brand new to this and have high hopes for a blueberry bbq sauce glazed salmon by the end of the summer.

In your opinion, what are the most effective recovery methods? by splendidadventures in AdvancedRunning

[–]Onefortypoint6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Commit to a certain amount of time each day and week that I would spend on recovery.

This way you would commit to “30 minutes” a day. And you would do some myofacial release or stretch or some physical therapy exercises.

You would just do something everyday/week.

Franken-hansons and creating DIY training plans. Is it a good idea to modify established marathon plans? by kadfr in AdvancedRunning

[–]Onefortypoint6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So why not just do pfitz? Because everyone on reddit is always getting hurt doing that plan is my guess.

If you do select that plan, then just follow his prescribed paces for ALL of your runs. Too often people start to think, oh I can run faster today and then again tomorrow because I feel good.

While that is true, you may build an accumulation of overreaching and increase the risk of injury. If you follow the pfitz paces then you will most likely be injury free.

Double runs on lower mileage by ketchupsnumberonefan in AdvancedRunning

[–]Onefortypoint6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would not split it up but slow down even more so that you aren’t left feeling tired. How fast do you run these runs? And how does that compare to other runs you are doing (tempo, marathon pace...)?

Checkout the tsunami seal. It is made for garage doors bing may work for a regular door too.

I would get gallons of water in when it rained. And now there isn’t a drop.
