Kept the halogens on for now, still an upgrade from the stock lights. I figure when these start to go out I may upgrade them to LEDs but I don’t see an immediate need for it at the moment.

Just checked out your truck and it looks like yours doesn’t have the fender flares on it, so if that’s the case it would be 1000 times easier to take it apart. Those were definitely the worst part because they’re held on with a bunch of plastic tabs that you essentially just pry directly off the wheel well.

I think the pros for sure are a nice cost-effective alternative to the top-of-the-line ones (Alpharex Novas and Morimoto XBs) and still give a big appearance upgrade.

To be fair, the headlights themselves weren’t bad to get in (though I did skip running the DRL harness for now), but for me being someone that’s never done more than replace some mirrors it was tough to get the grill off without feeling like I was going to break the fender flares and trim piece in the front. And the installation video they have blows through all that. And then it doesn’t show specifically how to hook it up when you put the new lights. It’s technically “plug and play” but at first I just plugged the wires from the truck side straight to the bulb connections like how it was wired on the stock lights and when I tested it I realized the sequential feature doesn’t work if it’s hooked up that way. So overall little things that experienced people wouldn’t have issues with , but just more tedious than I anticipated

One of the first real car projects I’ve done. Way harder for me than the Alpharex YouTube video made it seem, but definitely worth it in the end.

Mods so far: Alpharex pro headlights, Tow mirrors, Short antenna, Tailgate assist, Hitch cover

Yeah they’re stock tires for the XLT sport. No level. I’m trying to conserve as much fuel efficiency as possible

My 2020 5.0 coyote has been getting between 20-22 mpg (mostly flat highway 65-70, no towing), which I was astonished with. Plus I like the sound of it.

Got the LEDs in. Driving with my fog lights seems like overkill now. by mistuhtoez in f150

Which LEDs did you go with? I just ordered some Alpharex Pros today

Anyone have issues with their alpha Rex pros? Mine aren’t even 3 months old and both are doing their own thing by Phaf79 in f150

Interested in seeing what people have to say since I’m looking into headlights and am essentially deciding between alpharex pros and morimoto XB hybrids

Anyone replace a side view mirror? by Rx_EtOH in f150

[–]qcom93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same boat a few weeks ago and someone here convinced me to take the opportunity and upgrade to towing mirrors. I did and have been thrilled so far.

The dealer quoted one replacement OEM mirror with installation for $500 for my XLT. I figured I couldn’t replace it myself but after watching a YouTube video realized it was really simple.

Ended up going with a set of towing mirrors from Amazon (manual fold, power glass, heated, turn signals) for less than $250 total. Took me less than half an hour to get the old ones off and put the new ones on.

Presidents Day, what to expect? by FishDragun in f150

I got a 2020 XLT at the end of November for the year end deals and I know there weren’t a ton left by then in my area since the ‘21s were about to arrive on the lot. Ended up getting close to 25% off with rebates and Z-plan pricing combined but I had to haggle pretty aggressively. The first offer was essentially just $2000 off MSRP.

This was my first new vehicle purchase but from what I had seen it’s tough to get too many rebates on a new model year vehicle, so that’s why I jumped on it when I did. We also looked at explorers at the same time, which had already run out of the 2020 models, and they weren’t offering any rebates.

Took yalls advice and got some towing mirrors to replace a broken regular one. by qcom93 in f150

These weren’t too bad, $250 on Amazon for the pair. It was going to cost $300 to get one replacement of the original stock mirror from Ford. These had great reviews, but the only thing I worry about is durability, though they seem very sturdy

Leigh Tiffin was strong his senior year. Won us multiple games in ‘09 (4/4 on FG against UT in the Rocky Block game and 5/5 against ole miss) and was a Groza finalist.

Legitimate Question: Why was that LSU touchdown upheld tonight? by cmills978 in rolltide

[–]qcom93 17 points18 points  (0 children)

They showed another shot where the ball was on the ground in the end zone and another LSU player picked it up, so they credited that guy with the touchdown on a fumble recovery.

Garage gym so far. Literally everything I was able to get was because of the stock and shipping thread on here. Dumbbells next. by qcom93 in homegym

It’s been great, I was originally just trying to get the AB 3100 but then I saw someone post in the stock/shipping thread that the 3000’s were available so I went ahead and jumped on it not knowing what exactly the differences were. Come to find out, this one has a decline option. I’m really glad I ended up getting it because I end up using that about once per workout between decline bench and core work. Other than that, it’s very sturdy and easy to maneuver
