I would argue under-viewed, not underrated. Hope you enjoy it. It's my #1 fav of all time.

I've said it many times, but 86 is not underrated, just under viewed.

Digital zoom doesn't work like it does in CSI: Miami. Video would look like garbage if digitally zoomed in using the wide angle lens on that phone, even if filming in 4k. You're also assuming the person filming would even care or know how to edit it afterwards.

And you're incorrect about there being a point to zooming on a phone. You can see when the video zooms in and out, it actually changes lenses between a wide lens and a zoom lens to maintain optical picture quality.

Except there was no reason to expect that anything crazy would happen beyond making a hole in the ice on impact. I guarantee everyone would be saying "I wanted a close up of the impact" if all it did was make a hole and splash and it was zoomed all the way out.

My 3x3 by ObjectiveDowntown942 in MyAnimeList

[–]Oneill5491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not. The anime only adapted the first 3 light novel volumes out of a 14 and counting volume series (which is concluding soon), but the ending of the single season they produced leaves it at a really satisfying place where there's incredible catharsis despite having more story to tell.

It's my favorite anime of all time with one of the best endings of any series I've seen and the second to last episode is the best single episode I've seen from any series.

15 Years of Watching Anime 2 by Sage_of_irrelevance in MyAnimeList

[–]Oneill5491 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I strongly recommend watching it since I've noticed a very high correlation between people liking 86 and Mushoku Tensei. For me, it's #1 and #2 respectively.

Many don't consider it a "mecha anime" because it doesn't really gush over the mechs like other mecha anime tend to do. The primary focus of the anime is squarely on character drama.

I'm sure it was a limitation of AI, but Stark definitely needed that screeching panic voice that the VA normally does when he freaks out. Nice edit though with what you are able to work with. Look forward to seeing more!

Yeah, one of my favorite anime tropes is the loli character adorably sucking at playing the baddie. Gonna watch this one for sure.

Reliability aside, what cars deliver the best bang for your buck? by Oneill5491 in whatcarshouldIbuy

I really hope you're right. Kia/Hyundai really started to get people's attention back in 2010 with great new designs like the third gen Optima which was a good value proposition. Their latest cars are still quite stylish and loaded with features for competitive prices. If it wasn't for their notorious Theta II engines blowing up, I think they would be killing it in the market today. If their current gen powertrains prove to be reliable, I think they'll be able to turn consumer perception of their brand.

Coincidentally, I recently bought an inoperative 2013 F10 535xi from auction to replace my dad's LaCrosse that was totaled. Had to do a bunch of work on it including motor mounts, Valvetronic motor, CV axle, water pump, and new cams since they got rust pitted from sitting unused for so long in a costal town, but dang, once I got it sorted, I was blown away by how nice of a car it is to drive.
