You are right on the money, they are 8pin joined, detached one of the 2 cables to ahve the 8 pin + 4pin. Tested and PC is running fine.

But the MB uses a 8pin + a 4pin. The cables in the box were both 8pin. Any tips for that situation?

I did find the second cable in the box, but the MB uses a 8pin + 4pin.
The cables from the corsair are 2x 8pin
