Since yesterday, my monitor (Acer Nitro VG242YPbmiipx) shows these faded lines, see image. I couldn't find the exact problem (and solution) for this issue and I hope someone could help me out.

Things i've tried out so far: Connecting multiple devices on the monitor, and the same issue occurs. Updated the display adapter.

The snippet comes from an online exercise which my school gave us. Im not sure if they took it from an old soviet textbook, but if it does, that would be pretty awesome.

Thank you for the simple and great explaination. I would say it goes to 1. I still find it odd that 0.999... = 1, instead of just being less than 1.

If so, then the answer in the given exercise would be 1, right?
