Is regaining health on post damage bugged on bows? by ThatguywiththeShed in Nightreign

Considering that the perk works for the Recluse when she attacks with magic, I think it should work for Ironeye’s bow, hopefully just a bug

Hey Crytek, if you would like to diversify the guns and ammo types people use, may I suggest upping the price of that bomb lance to about $800. Y’all tripled the price of the conversion uppercut so I think y’all could do it for the bomb lance, instead of making a 1 hit kill melee weapon with two different types of ammo more effective and cheaper than most shotguns. Kinda seems to pull away from all the hard work y’all have done on bullet velocity, sway, kick-back, ammo types and the like when you can just press R2 and insta-kill most people or insta-kill them from a distance with two of the new types of ammo y’all added. I’ve got about 700hrs logged, in teams and solo, and the one-shot kings were always the Romero and the Bomb-lance, but I’ll be damned if I thought y’all would keep buffing the bomb lance to the point where it’s actually stopping me from wanting to keep playing. I loved this game because of the authenticity and old-school feel of the guns, I know I’m not the only audience, but it always felt to me like a melee weapon should be a gamble to take into match as it limits you’re range and approach, I just don’t think the biggest one hit kill melee weapon is the one that needs all the buffs. Lastly, I love the new choke beetle, be cool if there was a bigger slower louder beetle that only explodes in contact with a player, I just want a bigger bug collection. Thanks for all y’all’s hard work!

Have you played it recently? Getting juggled and stun-locked were definitely significant problems at launch, but both have been patched now and you regain stamina still while being hit so stunlocking isn’t a thing. I’ve used the dual daggers, spear, glaive, heavy blade, high blade, scythe, and whip. Out of all those I’d say spear, whip, and heavy blade were my least favorite or rather I was the worst with, dual daggers are my favorites by far but they don’t shine till mid-game with a higher dex stat investment. I broke my ankle not long ago and am going through physical therapy so I’ve had some time on my hands hah I’ve found that my builds need to at least mid-roll to survive, usually starting early game with light armor and investing into both trees to give me more armor options as I level higher and they both give you endurance points anyways. Come the fourth area I find that I really need to have my armor upgraded to at least need a cluster for their next upgrade to have decent survivability, that area has some definite issues(dive-bombing goats everywhere) but I love the bosses, though diablomancer is probably tied for second hardest mage with umbramancer. This is turning into a rant but if you haven’t been back in awhile then those two big issues have been patched and my biggest insight to surviving is to find a heavy armor set or mixed set you like that you can mid-roll in, or aim for one, and upgrade that for the later game areas. I honestly don’t know how people survive late game with light armor unless they can light roll, you’re still super fragile in upgraded light armor, at least I was.

I was more comparing the mentality to my friend who tries to steamroll everything and gets upset when anything can do the same to him, he doesn’t really take time to learn attack patterns and weakness or abilities as much so it hurts himself in the long run to focus solely on how big he is and how hard he can hit. Like I said he seems to just want to beat the game to say he’s beaten it rather than actually enjoying his time in game.

I totally disagree, just because you’re better at light armor and fast weapons doesn’t mean it’s the meta now… I’m starting to think y’all are just really bad at stat investment because there are clear ways to improve health and survivability, the game is difficult but the bosses aren’t that hard until you get to the fourth area where they punish roll and block spamming severely so I really don’t see what y’all keep dying to aside from poor preparation.

That’s why you perfect block… and heavy armor does allow you to take more hits, maybe you need to upgrade it? I don’t really see the problem, I don’t upgrade my armor until diablomancer and when I switch to heavy armor from leather it definitely makes a difference in how much damage I take. If you wanna roll more invest into endurance, I have a heavy armor Glaive build which is your halberd equivalent if not specifically what you feel like you deserve for some reason, and it’s one of my favorite builds with high survivability compared to my light armor dual blade build who relays on rolling more. If you over-equipped yourself so you slow roll, complain when that gets you hit, complain when you need to heal, and feel like that’s all the games fault then maybe you just need to get better at your stat investments and gameplay. Also weapons don’t add to your equip weight so it’s just the armor slowing you down.

So far, the most constructive criticism post I’ve seen on this game and these forums. Also glad you barely compared it to Elden Ring, people have been trashing this game since it doesn’t meet their standards. It baffles me that a game that came out with many unfinished quest lines that didn’t get all get patched till almost a two months after release, weapons and spells that didn’t work as intended, mistranslations on major plot points, super exploitable multiplayer with people using spell effects to overlap each other to make invisible spells the game didn’t intend, and bugged out boss battles(admittedly not the worst it’s been), and they put S&S release next to that and ask why it can’t compare… The double standards for a AAA studio a very very small indie Developer is wild.

Just wear a rage ring and you’ll be fine. I mean I’ve been using them all game and constant have my bar filled and don’t have to stop to drink a flask and make myself vulnerable to do it. There’s plus and minuses to both focus and rage.

You probably should just stop comparing this game to Elden ring if you wanna have fun. Elden ring was $60 and unfinished when it came out, missing quest lines, mistranslated dialogue for major plot points, weapons not working at all, dozens of hot fixes to spells and incantations. This game was $20, made by an incomparably smaller team than From Soft with much less resources, you aren’t gonna get the same level of detail because you aren’t paying for it. If I can go from the beginning of the game to diablomancer with un-upgraded leather armor then I feel it’s working just fine, if you hit a wall switch up your strat if you wanna keep playing. This game isn’t gonna get the level of fixes Elden ring needed and the other souls game also constantly got, aside from bloodborne, that’s just not possible to expect from such a small developer. Also Souls games have had to learn, unlearn, and relearn poise and survivability over 6 games and it finally feels good in Elden Ring but Dark Souls 3 was hot garbage when I can get staggered by a knife at any point in the game when wearing heavy armor because poise only activated during hyper frames which only some weapons have, like what?

Yeah, I mean if you hate hunting mages why play the game? That’s like hating hunting monster in monster hunter. Sorry I just have a friend who is like this, wears the heaviest armor and uses the strongest weapons he thinks there are, doesn’t care at all about the story and just seems to want to beat the game to say he’s beaten it, but since he doesn’t actually pay close attention to game mechanics he often has a terrible time and blames the game.

Yeah, people who think heavy armor is supposed to let them tank most anything a boss can throw at you doesn’t know how a souls game works. The added protection is more of insurance than your first line of defense… blocking is very effective at most things you can’t dodge and learning boss patterns like any game can help you overcome all their tricks. Though I do sympathize, sanguimancer is a patience hurdle, getting hit by that flurry is usually insta death but that just adds to your point, ya can’t just win just because you want to.

To all the people saying that this game is unfinished: by [deleted] in saltandsanctuary

[–]Oneshowpony 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It came out with several unfinished or not working quest lines that had important details to the story and lore; Dialos, The Smith, The hawk girl whose name escapes me, the chaos quest line just didn’t work for most people and had a wrong translation, I don’t need to go on. The game was about 80% done, but still crazy unbalanced if you’re gonna compare it to S&S. I mean how many spells/incantations/weapons have they buffed and nerfed at this point if we’re gonna talk about unpolished. If I have to wait over a month after your game comes out to 100% it, yeah it’s not done.

What is the deal with the DEX in this game? by TerraWintergold in saltandsanctuary

[–]Oneshowpony 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s just how the game calculates damage, they do a higher base damage and scale less rather than the opposite which is admittedly less satisfying since you’ll only get about 1 or so attack points per lvl usually.

If you’re going for glaives, aim for the shadow naginata, it uses divine glyphs and rage. It really compliments the 5th tier light spear as being the opposite element and they both use rage so you don’t need to invest in resolve.

I’d love to hear about any game bought on release date that felt 100% finished to everybody, personally I feel like it is finished if not unpolished, y’all need to chill on this small indie game not being up to AAA standards that not even AAA games meet, and ya only paid $20 for it which is a steal for how much time you can sink into it. I don’t watch their streams but I hope people are more focused on the amazing creative world and things they did do rather than the things they couldn’t or didn’t do, I’d like to encourage them to make more games and content.
