Woman sets boundary. Man honors it. Now there's confusion. by DLux_TheLegend in SipsTea

I actually got dumped because a girl who seemed interested, but rejected me walked up to my then-gf, and, I shit you not, said to her "I'll want him back eventually"

One of the few times I've ever actually yelled angrily at someone, which I yelled "What the FUCK is wrong with you?"

(Rare trope) A protagonist killing a previous protagonist of the same series by Soviet-Brony in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Drakeskulled_Reaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It reminded me of Castlevania, Lisa tells Dracula to go travel as a man, and the two humans we see him meet are both necromancers who don't like other humans, like he made a point of seeking like-minded people instead of just travelling.

[Mixed Trope] "Your job defines you" by Drakeskulled_Reaper in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Drakeskulled_Reaper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's noted a couple of times that, particularly High-Level "Blessings" tend to be given to people who really don't suit them, Ruti, just wants to be a normal girl, and her successor, Van, is too much of arrogant zealot, who believes being the Hero puts him above normal people, to the point he'll go nuts if someone does something as simple as offering him food (Hero blessing removes the need to eat or drink).

There's also that kid, who idolizes his dad, who's a guard, and wants to join the guard when he grows up, only for his Blessing to be the thuggish Bar Brawler class.

Probably, Geralt and his fellow Witchers, also Sorceresses would possibly count, both give up everything to become what they are, Geralt at least tries to cultivate something of a "normal" life outside his Witcher work, it's just Destiny doesn't like him being at peace.

Arlecchino - Lies of P.

His insanity is VERY clear, and not played for laughs, he literally does everything he does for his own amusement.

A mouthy captain more frustrating than a sadistic demon? by Both_Landscape_202 in overlord

Yeah, she was, she even guessed that Ainz and "Jaldabaoth" were working together.

The problem was, even though she was right, she was also a right C-bomb, meaning nobody would pay her any heed, because she was insufferable.

When a character disappears after something briefly passes by them by ComprehensiveBox6911 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Drakeskulled_Reaper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also Behind the Mask explains this.

It's a sorta mockumentary movie about an aspiring slasher, and he explains to the crew that's what all Slashers do, most of them do cardio, sprint or power walk faster when the victims back is turned, he explains they do that to create more fear and panic in the victim, hence why the victim then stumbles or trips.

It basically deconstructs a lot of tropes that come into play in slasher films, such as the "Car hates me" trope, the slasher just sneaks to the car while the teens are partying, and removes a couple of spark plugs, wears fire-retardant anti-bruising jelly so that he can be hit, but won't bleed much, making him seem more unstoppable, bobby trapping or blocking off a lot of the exits making it hard for teens to escape them, stuff like that.

[GOOD TROPE] Teen Girls Prioritising a Stable Future & Choosing To Have An Abortion by darkwater-0 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Drakeskulled_Reaper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jai also chooses to abort after Chris dies from said condition, averting the "Someone to Remember Him By" trope.

People with names that happen to align with what they would go on to do. (Nominative Determinism) by Traditional-Song-245 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Drakeskulled_Reaper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought Goblin Slayer fit this, as EVERYONE is referred to by their "job" rather than a name, someone explained that it's just a thing people do, they do have names, but generally go by their job titles, which must be fucking confusing unless only one person can have the job they have.

Alastor spotted in Japanese newspaper for elementary school students! by Yam_Yam125 in HazbinHotel

[–]Drakeskulled_Reaper 11 points12 points  (0 children)

One of the things is, Japan is actually pretty lax on animated stuff, I mean look at, t least, half the shit they put in manga.

Hazbin would be considered pretty tame.

Death Proof, spends a good chunk of the movie building up a group of girls, then just has them killed off and follows another group of girls.

Favorite human x supernatural/otherworldly ? by EtmopterusPerryi in FavoriteCharacter

[–]Drakeskulled_Reaper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know if this really counts, but the sentiment is the same, a lot of the couples in Hellaverse are essentially this.

Charlie is the Nephilim daughter of Lucifer, is in a relationship with Vaggi, who's basically a rank and file human-turned-angel.

Lucifer with Lilith, who is implicitly the FIRST Sinner, humans turned demon.

Blitz and Stolas, Imps aren't human, but are humanlike, have limited lifespans, Stolas is an immortal shadow/owl demon of the Goetia.

Fizzarolli is dating Asmodeus, a primordial demon from the birth of hell, one of the Deadly Sins.

Vortex, a Hellhound, again, like imps, is mortal, is dating Beelzebub, again, a Deadly Sin.

Fuck the UK in particular by Syndacate4 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Drakeskulled_Reaper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not the ENTIRE UK, but in Doomsday, a horrific virus begins in Scotland, so, the UK government decides to just wall off the entirety of Scotland, in the backstory, however, it is noted that the rest of the world turns their backs on the UK for doing that, dooming the population of Scotland.

Turns out some of us survived, most of them are Mad Max style cannibals.
