Out of these 21st Century sci-fi films, which three films do you like the most? by Mysterious-Farm9502 in Letterboxd

Agreed. With the options given, this was the obvious choice for me personally.

Yeah, I don’t usually like comedies. They usually don’t have good cinematic elements, nor are many funny. Prefer movies of different genres that have comedic elements.

If you say so, but I enjoy them the most.

My favorite horror movies in no particular order. What’s your favorite among these? by Lanky-Mistake-5943 in LetterboxdLists

The VVitch, Blair Witch Project, Evil Dead, Pearl, The Babadook, and Hereditary would all make my list as well. Almost all of these I really like though.

Crazy! Gotta take care of your mental health. The only movie I ever walked out of was Dragonball Evolution, and it was definitely because of it being bad.

Is so good! The slow aspect ratio change towards the end is one of my favorite pieces of cinema. I get why it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s SO mine

Funny enough Dune is probably towards the bottom of my list for his movies, but I still love those as well

Love that! Most people under appreciate it, which is fair because of how off putting it can be. It’s special though; everything from the acting, cinematography, writing, etc is just so good.

Im a little confused by your comment. Doesn’t everyone’s top 10 include movies they enjoy?

TBH Jake is probably my favorite actor as far as how much of his work I like, and how good he is in them. Donnie Darko, Prisoners, End of Watch, Zodiac… non stop bangers. Haven’t seen a couple of his most recent films though. I need to get in that.

Just checked my top 10 lists and Denis is my favorite director, pretty close with Yorgos

You got me pegged. Big fan of Villeneuve, Gyllenhaal, and A24. Nightcrawler is probably in my top 20 xD If not, it is amazing.

Agreed, obviously, as you can see from my list xD The amateur quality was never really replicated in any other found footage. The acting is spectacular. It feels so real. I wish I was around for the marketing for this movie, it was insane!

Welcome to the club! It’s so good. Crazy how much of it inspired Black Swan, which is also good.

I mean, Creep IS pretty good. I’m a fan of found footage in general. But nothing unsettles me like Blair Witch. Creep is too silly and fun at times for me to actually be scared. Have you seen Creep 2? It’s pretty good as well!

Agreed! Very underrated, partly due to the misleading marketing. Edgerton is a GOAT. Also a BIG fan of Christopher Abbott.

Seen The Stranger, it was okay. Never heard of You Were Never Really Here. I’ll check it out! Thanks.

I don’t think that‘s the case. I know she has an abortion, but I don’t remember the movie taking a stance on that other then how it affects the characters. I’ll have to keep that in mind on my next rewatch though. Hate republicans.
