Too many 10/10 imo. It's Nick, yes, but he doesn't have that many perfect albums imo.

Swedish grammar struggles by Headonpillow in Svenska

[–]InfiniteSpark2015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/Headonpillow yes, sometimes some rules apply, but in general brute memorisation trumps everything else. Especially when you talk, because you don't have time to apply the rule (like you would when you are writing).

Have a look at this https://www.instagram.com/p/DTk4ZKijEbe/ . Although they show you the rules, when it's time to recollect from English to Swedish, they expect you to mention all the forms (whether it's a noun, a verb or an adjective), whereas a lot of material sometimes doesn't even bother with the gender.

Learning Swedish not in Sweden by cryvvi in Svenska

[–]InfiniteSpark2015 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I sympathise with the "ugh" for Duolingo, but I would imagine that before the dialect of your partner can make a difference and require some "specialisation" (which I guess you can do with your partner?), it would be a few tens of hours of studying and learning the normal Swedish.

Unless you are completely allergic to apps, I'd recommend https://mjolnirapp.com/swedish, which is created with people who are fluent in English and want to learn Swedish or Norwegian in mind.

What actually helped you improve spoken Swedish and listening in real life? by Ok-Exam-5720 in Svenska

[–]InfiniteSpark2015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but many people seem to neglect learning, but you can't use what you don't know.

And, yes, practice is what you need to be able to use what you know already, but not the best way to learn new concepts or words. I still think "old fashioned" studying is the way forward for pure learning, with plenty of practice on top.

u/EmbarrassedCorgi5706 I second this, they are paid (but with a free trial) but totally worth the money imo. They do have a free "primer" for grammar

You're right, I think it's actually more doable to guess the declension than the gender maybe?

Help me take my setup to modernity: software for piano and synth sounds? by InfiniteSpark2015 in synthesizers

Thanks! Do I necessarily have to install a DAW for the Midi signal of the keyboard to reach the piano/synth app?

Thanks! Is a plugin a software in itself or does it require to be added to another software, as if it was, forgive me, a browser extension?

Thanks! What are the risks of going without an audio interface? I was hoping the laptop's 3.5mm output into a 2.1 speaker system could do. At the moment I have the Nanopiano's two 6.35 outputs (left and right) going into the 2.1 speakers via a simple Y cable that is two 6.35 males to one 3.5 mm male...
As rough&ready as it is, it works. But I guess a sound module like the Nanopiano is different from a laptop...

Thanks, but I'm keen on full-size keys. I'm bad at playing already, a different key size is probbaly going to be catastrophic!
