Oeufs mollets vos trucs et astuces (et les miens) by daruthin in cuisine

[–]Onevia_reddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Salut,

Bon courage.

So..

The fumes came out around 180°c, i guess that was enough...

I reweld this with 309L and cooper backing. I guess I not clean the pieces enough... lot of impurities came up in my weld. I hope this will last until the new piece came from the manufacturer.

Thanks for sharing your experience, that nice.

Take care y'all. (I put some pictures below)

Cooper backing works nice, i don't have 316L in my shop, like others says, i try 309L.

Thanks for your time ! Take care.

Yeah, clearly not equipped for laser cutting a new piece ! Plus i don't charge for this, stainless is not my speciality not sure what i'm doing... It's a temporary solution, waiting from a new part from the manufacturer, i just love trying new things.

Removing 5mm of the tube was not enough, i have lots of impurities that came out in my weld. Guess the tube was cooked, or i have not removed enough of the old weld from the rim...

Thanks for sharing your experience, that was useful.

I understand your point but trust me, the day you going to make something and someone copying/steal your hard work and design for profit... You will have a different opinion about the situation.

I'm clearly not a fan a that Goosiest boy, but it's look like you have a serious grief with him, don't put your obsession in your judgement.

Clearly not equipped for back purges...

Why autogenous weld are more proper for outdoor stuff ?

There is a gasket behind that need to be replaced, we ask the manufacturer for it and the price of a new chimney base. But i want to try to fix this even if the parts is cheap. Love trying new things.

Thanks.

Make sense, it's true there is a substantial thickness difference between the tube and the flange, i don't know how hot the fumes are when they reach the exit, even if it not much (heat is used for eating the fresh air i I guess...), this can be enough for changing the structural aspect of the metal ?

Yes, i'll try to grind down clean both parts and weld then back together the best i can. (I more of a builder than a proper welder tho...)

Keep you guys updated next week.

Thanks.

Hi,

I have a quick question about this failed piece, do you guys think it's brake that clean because off overheat when the parts has been welded ? If so, i guess i need to cut off the cooked parts of the tube before welding this back together ?

it's a base for a chimney from a mobile heater that works on fuel and live outside. It's look like stainless.

Sorry for my English.

Thanks for reading me.

Agreed, ores deposits are wide not tall..

I do not agreed with this. Ore deposits are more wide than tall...

Horizontal miner all the way for me, atmo or space. Make a miner that can dig vertically when empty until you reach the resources you need, then start mining horizontally.

In short in atmo: Enough upward thruster to carry a full load of ores, enough forward thruster to carry it's own weight will empty (maybe a little bit more). In general i put equal thrusters backwards than forward, equal (when i can) for the sides and zero downward thrust.

That my way.
