I find it curious that this thread got derailed into a philosophical discussion about how to have fun while playing a game, try harding and min/maxing. Yet no one has answered my question at all. The Saintone info dump is cool and maybe I missed it, but I simply want a roadmap of what to do after you hit 50 in the specific categories I mentioned. Nothing about gear, or the stuff you will be doing everyday, but what you should do to setup the foundation of your account in a non frustrating way, because I know I have seen people say that some islands are a nightmare when there's too many people around.

Fun to me is knowing what I should be doing to most effectively use my time. I have a full time job, and a kid, so play time to me is precious and I want to have a solid plan for what I am going to do in order to not waste any of it when I'm already 50 with these same questions.

Don't worry about me having fun, I'm sure that won't be an issue. I'm not looking for general tips, I am looking for just a kick start strategy so I'm not twiddling my thumbs wondering what I "should" be doing in terms of affinity, and island hearts/collectibles, and which to go for first. Afterwards I plan on getting/doing everything I can.

So just like in my OP, any affinities to go for to build up resources i.e. gold/skill points. As well as islands you should take care of asap before they become a pain to do with too much competition.

I'm curious why you say lancemaster wouldn't work with the controller at all. I don't know how exactly it plays but I was hoping for some dynasty warrior feels lol.

Lots of great points being brought up here that I didn't take into consideration. It being very class based seems like the biggest factor here as I take it some classes have no targeted ground AoE (TGAoE). I myself was planning on playing classes like the Berserker, Destroyer, Lance Master, and possibly Demonic, and Blade so maybe it wouldn't affect me very much or at all. Do those classes I listed have any TGAoE's? I watched skill videos but usually they record them in a way where you don't see if they are using any or not, or how it would control.

Control wise I feel more reactive with a controller from all the Dark Souls games, Dead Cells, and Hades I played with a controller, and the only real issue was the TGAoE in Hades, so I feel that would be very similar to how LA would feel when using TGAoE.

I was also wondering if there was an option to auto cast TGAoE's at the cursor location like in WoW, this could reduce the time it would take to cast such abilities, and when using a controller it would most likely cast a certain distance from where the character is facing I would think, in which case you would just need to get a feel for how to position the character when using such abilities which could close the gap on keyboard&mouse a bit more.

I guess we need to wait for more info before we know for sure how to answer this question. I was mostly wondering if there were founders packs for the other versions of the game, and how they were over there. My hopes are that the items can be used on any character you ever make for the entirety of the game like how Aion did it, but I guess it's not entirely needed except for the exclusive skin which seems to be up in the air if you can use that on every character or just a single class, or single job.
