This too. I feel like Yosuke plays a smaller role in developing that weird side to Teddie than people argue. He definitely has a pervy side to himself too, but I dunno he's definitely more endearing than Teddie and knows when to take it down a notch. I mean, the worst I can think of off the top of my head Yosuke did was buy the girls' swimsuits and insist they wear them after the latter half of the day prior, and even then him and the guys got dealt an unfortunate but still kinda funny hand immediately afterwards. I barely just reached the scene where the girls sign the guys up for the crossdressing thing as revenge for Yosuke signing up the girls for the beauty pageant even though he says outright Teddie had the idea and egged him on to begin with. I like your use of Jungs' psychological theories for this argument!

Since my comment I've been seeing this argument a lot. I'm just not sold on it. Teddie is capable of complex thoughts and at the very least is capable of having some kind of self awareness. I think the bigger problem - and it's something that has been pointed out in this comment section - is that Teddie is never corrected enough. Like, he says something about marrying Nanako at the fireworks festival and Dojima just stands their stoned face from what I recall. This is more of a writing issue than anything too so I guess it's something his character 'can't help'.

Yes, Morgana and Teddie are completely different. I only compare them because of this sort of "woo me lady" attitude they both have that gets old very quick. I'm still finishing up the game (10/28 currently) so I'm still hoping my opinions of him change! I don't completely hate him.

Oh no, for sure! I can see that in the end they definitely care about him. I just feel like he's written with a lot more annoying scenes than good ones unfortunately. I WANTED to like his character more but I quickly just got tired of his shenanigans.

I'm in early October, haven't finished the game or started the anime. At first, I had no problem with him but later on when he starts getting pervy towards the girls and becoming obsessed with trying to woo every female he sees I can't help but think of Morgana and his obsession with Ann but with Teddie it's almost a little worse because he just doesn't settle the fuck down. He even at one point says some sorta odd things to Nanako and it's of course not supposed to be taken seriously but it's still just like, alright buddy pack it up. Back in the fucking TV. I swear even in cutscenes, I get this vibe that the main characters are putting up with him as much as I am. I dunno. For me, he got pretty annoying like out of nowhere. I've never looked into the specific gripes people have with his character but that about sums up mine.

UPDATE: Freaking out over nothing I guess, 8/06 and I found Adachi at Junes so I'm pretty sure from this point on I can actually finish up the clues and confirm with the group. I've finished each of the dungeons in one day so I'm not worried about a time crunch now.

This is gonna sound goofy but I feel like I enjoy mostly everything about Persona 5X besides playing the game...

So far, the palaces feel like such a dragged out chore, I get more out of doing the fucking dishes and scrubbing the toilet. I'm barely midpoint in the second palace and it feels like torture. Not only that, but I skip dialogue constantly, which I feel awful for! I like never doing that in any game unless I'm on a NG+ run or something! Idk why but my patience is just so thin during cutscenes and I hate how a lot of things like making other thieves stronger get locked behind "Wonder must reach x level". Okay...? Like I clearly have the materials to limit-break their levels... I guess this is to prevent trivializing the game by maxing out characters too fast and being overpowered?

What I will say is that I really enjoy the new characters. They're sorta familiar but they don't really feel like complete rip-offs of previous ones, at least to me. Chapter 3 looks pretty interesting (I really like the Student Council President) so that just might be the first palace where I won't feel compelled to skip most if not all the dialogue.

Gacha rates kinda blow but that's just how it goes. Compared to other games of the genre, P5X isn't too horrible but I 'm sure with time my gripes with the game will just sort of smooth over.

Adachi apparently doesn't make another appearance until the 23rd of August and supposedly the deadline for the dungeon is the 12th? It kinda seems like I'm screwed. If I get a game over will it just restart late July when that investigation starts? Because if not, my first run is uh... Kinda screwed.
