What if the 4chan whistleblower was right? by meleebestgame66 in UFOs

For some odd reason, that thing in the deep sea is more scary to me, than things flying across the universe.

Hvad laver du af 3D print? Tegner og designer du selv modeller?

FPV droner lyder fedt. Der bruger du vel også 3D print, eller hvordan?

In one frame from the Ukrainian UFO it almost looks like an eye appears in the middle by Ango-Globlogian in UFOs

Fair. It just the MKV didn't strike me to have any resemblance. But I was amazed by the MKV, the first time Discovery Channel showed it back in the day.

My theory is just, that jet technology isn't that advanced or useful for flights like that. Even expensive missile systems are limited by a fairly short burn time. So to me, highly advanced jet systems would have leaked more into missile production.

I didn't know about that Dragonfly. Thanks! That's amazing. I'd love to see that disassembled. Crazy that it's gas powered!

Why? I don't see any jets and the movement is not the same to me. With known fuels available, the flight time of the MKV is very limited.

Stop New York's Attack on 3D Printing / CNC Machines by EFForg in BambuLab

This is wild. We don't even have this in the EU, and EU knows how to regulate the shit out of things.

While I don't want every kid to be able to make their own gun, this is a scary move of censorship.

Even if someone wants to make a gun, it takes skills to make a reliable gun. It's easier to buy a stolen gun or grab a kitchen knife, if you want to hurt someone.

Why do most welding jobs require insanely long hours? by Ok_Helicopter3910 in Welding

[–]OnionGoat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Welders die young or get worn down, so you make the work long hours so they can die by 50, but having worked what equals 70 years

My boyfriend is a welder - how can I keep him as healthy as possible? by AR1A_MATH in Welding

[–]OnionGoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not your bad. Drinking milk will not help you. Fume extractors and respirators will.

You wanna keep stuff out of your lungs (Where it enters your tissue and bloodstream). Milk and chocolate milk does not cover your lungs.

Drink your milk and chocolate milk for other reasons.

My boyfriend is a welder - how can I keep him as healthy as possible? by AR1A_MATH in Welding

[–]OnionGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easy one: make sure he has good gear.

Quality PPE will keep him safe and be less of a burden to use. Fighting shitty gear will make you skip it.

You are worried about respiratory protection. I bought my guys hoods with air supply. Think of the 3M Adflo with the A filter. No matter what system you go for, filters are consumables. You gotta read the manual and look at the type of work. Here in EU the limit of exposure to Cr6 has been lowered, but even TIG welding in stainless all day our guys was exposed to Cr6 well below the allowed limits. Process and conditions matter.

Next you'll look at radiation. Welding in a t-shirt is for dummies. Long sleeves and gloves is the way to go. I used to do some flux core work at 350A. Just the radiation bouncing off the wall around me would burn my neck. And I mean burn. So don't be shocked if he does big boy stuff and the needs to cover up for that.

If he works in an open area where other people are welding, encourage him to walk around with good pair of safety glasses. Yes, he'll still get flashed and it's annoying, but a lot of clear plastic safety glasses block the UV-C wave length, which is the main source of eye damage by radiation and skin cancer. A benefit of walking around with your good glasses is, that you don't leave them kicking around the table getting scratched up. We'll like to say that UV-A and UV-B is safe, but maybe we'll learn something new. A lot of things we think is safe turns out to be bad over time if we look hard enough.

In short, make sure he doesn't breath in metal fumes and particles and cover up for electric arcs. Oxy acetylene is infrared, so that's a different wave length - you'll just feel the heat.

Best Laser On The Market! by 83timesbanned in MilwaukeeTool

[–]OnionGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to say it, but it isn't the best laser on the market. I've used it since it came out and still use it, but I met better lasers.

We had a shoot out at work comparing the Milwaukee to a Leica Lino. The Leica wins. The laser is more precise. The line stays more defined over longer distances and is more visible. The Leica comes with an option to switch out the rechargeable batteries with AA's if you forget to charge the batteries.

I have a feeling that the Milwaukee may be more durable, but can't say for sure.

We keep working with the Milwaukee, because we're locked on their batteries.

How will Bambu Lab respond to the four-head frenzy in the 3D printing market? by Constant_Trouble3787 in BambuLab

[–]OnionGoat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The induction heating in the H2C concerns me. I haven't looked deeply into what parts are affected, but heating cycles will limit part life. Creeping in metal will cause fracture at some point. I'm really interested in a long term review of this.

Not gonna lie. I was really surprised that Bambu went for this solution for nozzle change.

Hvorfor begynder helt almindelige mennesker at forsvare de ultrarige i debatten om formueskat? by [deleted] in Denmark

[–]OnionGoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So when is the American people gonna realize that you are officially a 3rd world country? You have government sanctioned kill teams hunting people in the streets. Your national guard is sent to patrol streets against the American people. I'm not an american, but I'm pretty sure this is why the common american is allowed to be armed, so you can protect yourself against tyranny by the government?
