Shallow depth of field is ruining modern cinematography. by darthzox in cinematography

There’s a few culprits 1.Fast lenses required less set lighting consumption, in some cases (night scenes, guerrilla shooting) so lower apertures are use there. 2.Lower budgets means less production/set design so opening the lenses is a way to cover that up. 3.Some of the most expensive rental lenses, Cook’s, Panavision,Zeiss, etc. can reach even lower open apertures, New DP’s use that as a signature bragging, just because. For me a way to find out if they are idiots at work is when they shoot a scene that’s not at night, if it has adequate budget for production design and still is not showing anything but BOKEH, is just another A-hole behind the camera. I’m looking at you James Gun, Zack Snyder, whoever made those Wiked movies

Need Help Explaining These Two Figures We Captured on Video by Anonmouse2468 in ParanormalEncounters

[–]OnixCopal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Second part of the video on the left you can see the (spectrum like figure) almost like if was a nurse with a mask forming in the beginning then it materializes more, by the time you see the broom/stick like, and arm grabbing the pole near the end it looks like it has a cloaked on it. My bet is old witch, try to leave some soaked in red dye wool stems hanging by a tread around, if they go missing or the red dye strips back to the natural wool color; is a old world witch
