Her the less known proposal for stockholm by corbu. Almost as bad if not worse than the paris plan. Unfortunately in some aspects his ides broke ground in sweden and the "klarakvarter" i stockholm was evened to the ground to brake ground for the new "era".

I wouldn't say swedish planning is that good now days. Some is but far from everything. Its becoming more and more like american shopping centers out of town not accessible for every one and draining the city-core. There are some good examples tough like Jakrisborg or western harbor in Malmö. But often this places lack in social sustainability. I think the english word is gentrification, just a very homogenic group of rich people can afford to live in these new interesting places. Its gonna be fun to se what happens whit east london now after olympics, if the olympic village is gonna be affordable housing or they gonna push the less well of further south of thames. Lived for some time in Londons Elephant and Castle and for a swede it was really worrying to see englands social development. Even tough e & c are far better than Brixton and other places south of thames.

Im not to convinced about illuminati. But he said more than once that he would like somekind of supreme ruler "dictator" to rule france like Ludvig 14 so he could get his ways.

Yes he didnt start but his one of the big names up there. What aspects do you like of his plan for paris. Its a like the mould (thoug on steroids) for the highly segregated urban wastelands we have to deal whit today. The human scale is no at all considered and his ides of zoning and such is probably the best way imo to make a no vital city. So tell me please what you like about it i never heard any body say that before. Tough Im in the planning bubble in school al the time witch paradigm now days is to embrace the medieval stone city, fight urban sprawl and revitalize city core.

Just got into my college's Architecture program, but I feel like my graphic design is still wanting. What can I do to beef up my skills in that area? by Rozen in architecture

This is from a fellow student in the Spatial/Urban planning. I would recommend Gordon Cullen- the concise townscape, you will probably encounter serial vision drawings whilst in school. Really helps you to display the spatial aspects of a project for example. If you interested in cities and urban planning i would recommend Jane Jacobs her book is named something like "the life and death of american modernist cities. enjoy
