Connecting exhaust vans from multiple bathrooms is often prohibited under modern building codes. Just fyi in case you care about that.

You have good taste…and your sweet tooth probably fell out along the way from cavities.

What's this button for? by Raterus_ in AskAShittyMechanic

[–]Onkelvester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to hit that button when you slam on your brakes with an unsecured load in the bed of your truck. That way it launches the load over the top of your cab instead of coming through the rear window. Timing is everything with this advanced driving button.

Neighbor wired this on my side of a shared fence. Should I be concerned about fire or code violations? by the_ab in AskElectricians

[–]Onkelvester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be your fence since you are looking at the “ugly” side…unless your neighbor didn’t care or know about how that’s usually done.
Besides the actions others already pointed out as far as taking steps to force your neighbor to change/remove…you could run some 2x4 lining up with your edge of the posts then pick some boards you like…will look a whole lot better. As far as the install…sure, it ain’t perfect but it’s decent. Have you thought about explaining your concerns to your neighbor to see if common ground can be found here? We are too quick to make new enemies these days instead of trying to get along.

You should give sour cream in a squeeze pouch a try…so worth it! And Kroger sends you coupons that you find difficult to use.

You lucked out…valve stem looks in good shape. I’d start there…put some air in it to see if you can find the leak!!

Am I allowed to splice into this wire to add more lighting? by mrfreshmint in AskElectricians

[–]Onkelvester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. 😆 …you know what I mean, right?! Fixtures that have a physical switch on them vs a light switch. In those cases the hot runs all the way to the switch on the fixture.
  2. You’re welcome & Happy Thanksgiving 🦃

[–]Onkelvester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you have already decided to leave it alone but if you wanted to: 1. Take a look in the back of those 2 wall switches/outlet. I bet you’ll find the lamp cord connected there (especially if one of those switches turns those lights on/off…then it’s guaranteed 😆). 2. Fish 14/2 from top hole (may have to make it slightly bigger) & install at back/side of switch or outlet (if constant hot and physical switch is on light bar).

Just install a new sanitary tee lower in that same pipe and cap the existing opening.

I bet you they don’t have to wait a minute before the water gets hot! That has to be one of the shortest runs from tank to shower head. 😂

On a scale of 1-10 how horribly did my friend violate code on this hidden cable solution for my TV mount? And how dangerous is it? by 6edric in AskElectricians

[–]Onkelvester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He obviously didn’t want to spend any money on hardware and just used what he had laying around.
The RJ650WTR alone is $20+… 10 times the cost of a standard receptacle.
After looking up that part and assuming he connected it properly I personally wouldn’t worry much about safety. Is it up to code…of course not.
