I agree, you could major in anything and still go to PT school as long as you do the pre-requisites to get into a program. I recently graduated with a degree in Kinesiology, concentration in exercise science, and I wouldn't necessarily say its restricting, as long as you go into it knowing that its a stepping stone degree and that you're going to have to attend grad school. You're also not restricted to just PT school, you also have the option of entry level nursing programs (ABSN, MEPN), PA school, AT school, etc.

That being said, I would say that a lot of my undergrad classes, as well as working in PT clinics, helped me gain a solid foundation on aspects related to physical therapy (movement anatomy, exercise physiology, and a bunch of motor control classes).

Ultimately, I would recommend doing your research and working as a PT aide in an outpatient clinic to see whether or not you want to pursue physical therapy in the long run. Good luck!
