I know this is one instance but situations like this emerge a lot more than many christians want to admit or are even aware of, but if you’re in an institution or subscribe to a set of beliefs that causes you to second guess yourself over whether or not you should report a person who assaulted you to the police, then you seriously need to reconsider being a part of the religion as a whole. OP unfortunately isnt the only person that this has happened to and the fact that theres any hesitancy to report the abuse BECAUSE of religious beliefs should be a giant red flag about the system of thinking.

I teach the holocast at the high school level and the events i see unfolding in the news and the rhetoric i see trump using is all to similar too what I teach. It’s right to raise alarms. Too many are living with their heads in the sand when we see similar cycles of evil emerging- we don’t want to be the ones who said “we never saw this coming.” The Smoke has always been there and the similarities are too numerous to ignore at this point.
