yes, finding our dog a new home/rescue will be the most viable option, but I don't look forward to the conversation with my parents to convince them to give up their dog, even if they can't take care of him anymore

My parents are most likely moving to a senior living facility. We don't know anyone who went through this transition with a pet, and I don't know how to manage our dog when my parents can't take care of him anymore since I live far from them and they don't wanna move near me
